As a lifelong homeschooler, I can relate to the inability to tell which grade youā€™re in or ā€œwe donā€™t really do gradesā€.

ā€œHomeschooling is a program for both involved and aloof parents-you just make it upā€šŸ’ÆšŸ˜‚

Lack of socialization / Extreme socialization is so real. Also love how it's the first thing people ask about with homeschooling šŸ¤£

I have taken this drug my whole life, and now I'm just learning about the side effects? Why don't they label these things?!

On the other hand, here's public schooling for the last century or so. "The evil is most serious with young children because of their youth. Many of them, while making good progress in the three R's, outgrow their tendency to ask questions and to raise objections, in other words lose their mental boldness or originality, by the time they have attended school four years. But all along, from the kindergarten to the college, there is almost a likelihood that the self will be undermined while acquiring knowledge, and that, in consequence, one will become permanently weakened while supposedly being educated. In this respect it is dangerous to attend a school of any grade." --McMurry, Frank M. ( Morton). How to Study and Teaching How to Study (1909) The key is to overcome the idea a child must be broken to the classroom and inculcated with "school helplessness"

Marketing scam. I was homeschooled for 12 years and only have about half of those symptoms.

Okay, this is very true... We're smart. But not very good with our own age groups. Old people love us though!
  • I love that they added both lack of socialization and extreme socialization since it really depends on the family and we always get those ā€œunsocializedā€ comments from unknowledgeable people. Also ā€œextreme love of Princess Brideā€ is spot on šŸ˜‚
