  • Most people including me prefer halberd variant of the demigryphs because Empire has more than enough tools to beat infantry (op arty) and regular demis are a bit of an overkill. Halberd ones provide you power necessary to contest flanks against enemy anti-large heavy cav. Regular demis cant get past enemy cav to get into hammer&anvil position and sure aint beating units like blood knights or grail knights

    3:39 The reason halberds are better is becouse they, objetively, are better against other cavalries, their one and only target. The non-halberd variant is better against infantry, but as the Empire you already have more than enough tools to delete infantry in the form of artillery, missile infantry and magic, and a way to counter the enemy cavalry from disrrupting your acutally important units is much more useful than a unit that does a mediocre job at what the rest of your army already excels at.

    my personal top 10, because i disagree with all of this, using your 1 per race formula 10: skullcrushers. terrible charge and animations but hp and armour make up for it. good luck pulling them out tho 9: crushers (great weapons). quite difficult to justify their upkeep but they will beat any large unit so it becomes a keystone for ogres who struggle with large. 8: great stag knights, S tier charge animations, if squishy 7: chaos knights (tzeentch). loads better than doom knights because tankier and better pull out game. barrier and armour makes them tactically a must have for chaos. loses to most S tier cav tho. 6: demigryph knights (halberds). would be no.10 in a vacuum but its also a keystone for mobility defense for empire. used all the time in singleplayer and multiplayer. healing is required. 5: horned ones. they scale extremely well with single player buffs despite being useless in multiplayer. super speedy super heavy cav is rare. 4: heartseekers. highest skill cap of any cavalry. you can get 10k+ value if you micro them right. getting a full heartseeker surround will send any unit to brazil. 3: blood knights. still needs a buff but stat boosts and healing in singleplayer makes them incredible. reviving entities negates any pull out flaws entirely. once they get AP they will be no.1 cav 2: war bear riders. low model count and 8k hp makes them tankier than almost all other cav. the bear blob is a menace and nothing short of a chosen halberd stack will kill them. bit expensive tho, unless boris uses them. 1: grail knights. the best cav in a cav based roster. great pull out, charge and AP. has acess to healing and perfect vigour. magic attacks and AP counters all chaos large units. high mass from lance formation, speed, AP and anti large means they do everything cavalry is supposed to do. the king of cav.

  • Look, I'm just going to be honest here, putting Dragon Princes anywhere on this tier list is just idiotic. There's two detailed reasons for this (I would have listed a third reason that consists of how they don't cause fear or terror or just have immunity to psychology despite supposedly being elite units, but neither Kislev Tsar Guard or Empire Greatswords have any of those despite supposedly being elite infantry), starting off with their resistances. Now physical resistance IS useful early game, but spells and magic attacks eviscerate nearly anything with physical resistance (regular Dwarfs just grumble about how magic is annoying), and fire resistance is arguably the worst resistance in the entire game on account of how it's not going to be seeing any actual value against factions that don't have a lot of fire damage. The other reason is their lousy damage. As shock cavalry, a dependance on high charge bonus would normally be completely acceptable, but besides martial mastery that's literally all they have. Unlike literally every other unit on this tier list, they don't have armor piercing or an actual anti-unit bonus (think I'm a hypocrite for not attacking Blood Knights or Doom Knights of Tzeentch when neither of those units have armor-piercing? The former actually has anti-large, while the latter has the full benefits of the Mark of Tzeentch, and having magic attacks is typically just as good as having actual armor piercing or an anti-unit bonus!), and all Martial Mastery does is increase their melee attack and defense so long as they're above 25% health.
  • War Bear Riders are insane, one of the best Kislev doomstack especially in Boris's army, Top 3 no matter the criterias you use. I also think Dragon Princes aren't that great, not for their price at least, they just perform like a mid tier cav for some reason. Also, for a lower tier unit, Greenskin Boar riders perform surpisingly well despite their abysmal MA/MD. I think there was also some questionnable choices in the infantry video (no Chosen, but Bestigors?, no exalted unit..)
  • What about the Chaos Knights of Slaanesh (Lances)? These guys are some of the most fearsome flanking cavalry in the game.

    Royal hipogriph knights are one of the best units in the game now if your including doomnights the royal hipo should be on this list also, flying unit which could beer any unit on this list one on one and can take down any monster, desimate infantry, basically there is nothing they carnt do

  • What are your thoughts on the ripperdactyls? They do good damage and can get to a backline almost instantly, so they seem pretty good to me?
