Prior to nuclear devastation, Fallout's United States Space Administration dared to reach for the stars. From Mr Pebbles to the global Space Race, the US space program had a drive to boldly go where no man had gone before, pushing the boundaries of technology. Though, this early sucess wouldn't be the norm. Failures, cover-ups, and incomplete projects would plague the USSA's future, until the Great War would finally seal the fate of the pre-War administration. These are the untold stories of Fallout's pre-War space exploration.

You know it’s kind of bizarre. Only 2 people in the Fallout apocalypse have been in space(still alive): Sophia Daguerre & the Lone Wanderer(mainly talking about people who’ve gotten into a suit and walked out there). Mothership zeta is awesome. Going out in space and fighting aliens is completely amazing(firing the spaceship laser was the cherry on top for me). Sophia has a cool story but the repetitive quests were dull. It would’ve been fun to actually go out in space and rescue her. I hope we get more space content in the next Fallout.

12:26 after helping Dance out, a second mission after Prydwens arrival should have been coming back to Arcjet to see if we could repurpose the engine onto the airship. That way the mobile command center can hover around boston rather than stay in one location.

Space is definitely an under-explored area in Fallout canon. Not even the UFO/Alien stuff, I find the Cold War/ Human Spaceflight element far more interesting.

Two of my favourite things. Very honourable mentions; •Vault-Tec: Among The Stars. •Enclave, planned new society governed with ‘guidance’ from the results of the Vault-Tec experiments. •Repconn & Jason Bright. •Dick and Dara Hubbell. •Sea Of Tranquility Conflict. •Mr House's colonisation plan. •Plasma weaponry's origin. Honourable mention; •Captain Cosmo themed real space gear to inspire public interest in space, in the hopes of more funding. •Deep Space power armour, at time of writing is a datamined Atomic Shop power armour and has a USSA logo which looks like the Starfield logo, maybe to come out closer to the game. Please let me know if this helps you make a part two, giving people a space themed fix approaching Starfield. Barely honourable mention; •The Outer World's also by Obsidian resembles a society well into Mr House's colonisation plan, the Enclave stealing the skip drive from Mr House and using it as leverage over him to become the Earth Directorate and governing the colonies. This strongarmed partnership between Enclave/Vault-Tec and Mr House accelerating his plans by 26 years and then complications from the quote ‘Great War’ (BOS & other Wasteland factions?) causes Earth to lose contact with the colonies and ships. I could go on but this connection is spiritual at best and unless a TOW2 and/or FNV2 sets this up or establishes it as a parallel universe since Microsoft owns all parties involved at this point. •Which wouldn't be new since some version of Vault-Tec made doors in the Doom universe.

9:56 I am more leaning towards the theory the space station was manually landed instead of crash landing, since the its structure was rather intact.

norte, could you make a video about the fallout universe's life-extending technologies? the fallout universe has a lot of twisted ways people have cheated death

Rather ironically, the Virgo 2 lander looks as though it was inspired by the "LK" (lunar craft), a Russian counterpart to the American "LM" (lunar module) along with the N1-L3 rocket. The Soviet effort to land on the moon is quite interesting if you look into it.

Astronomically based, your videos always make my day better

Great video! Wish we had more Great-War and Pre-War entries and “looks” into that time period.

For pre-war lore I thought it be great to to have a start like fallout 4 before the war but you're at the moon base, 2 weeks left before returning home. You find out the Chinese set up an outpost on the edge of the dark of the moon. As you prepare to assault the outpost all comms and power go out suddenly. the Zetans attack you and the Chinese. The American and Chinese survivors flee back to the US moon base and work together to repair comms. You lead a strike team against the zetans only to deduce they are trying to repair their ship to take out our orbital alert station and alert the zetan carrier to commence invasion, you sneak a nuke aboard and blow the scout zetan ship. The comms are finally restored in time for the retaliation from the Zetans who manage to fire off a nuke moments before you break into the control room. The American and Chinese survivors go to the main atrium and view earth being engulfed in nuclear fire all the while listening to the world go silent. The next day you receive a radio burst transmission that your family were granted access into a vault but could not safely travel to it and are held up in a radio satellite array. You and your survivors work together to repair the escape pods and make your way back to Earth and the game begins!

What about the battle on the moon as depicted in the museum in concord. That’s what I really want to know about
  • @Macinvodakin
Thank you for the Fallout lore videos. I hope we receive a Fallout game or DLC that covers space or a space war on the moon or something similar.
  • it’s so funny to describe the space race, part of the cold war and concurrent with sino-soviet border conflicts, as a friendly competition between those three powers
