Drake getting upset over the control verse is 100% what Kendrick is talking about a decade later. No other rapper was mad about that except Drake (and to a lesser extent, Big Sean). He shouted out rappers he thought was the best but said "And I'm better".

I think Kendrick and The Weeknd are birds of a feather in a sense they both were cool with Drake at first, but quickly switched after spending some time around him and now they absolutely hate his guts. Iām curious if they just realized that Drake was fake and sheisty or if they witnessed something worse.

Yall are missing a critical point. In 2013 there was an interview Drake did on ESPN and he was sonning Kendrick. Drakes team then asked ESPN to get rid of the interview. But marcellus wiley shared that he told Kendricks ppl. Back then TDE decided to wait. I think Kendricks problem with Drake is that he think Drake is fake.

drake soft as hell, it doesn't make sense for kendrick to drop that control verse and then wanna fight as soon as he see's drake when its only supposed to be a friendly competition. its more so a shout out more than a diss, just kendrick saying i respect you but i'm here to show you that i'm better which is how it should be. just goes to show how immature drake is, being the only person that didn't get the message.
