Youtube decided to put a publicity interruption in the middle of David's electric solo... I really don't have words to describe how traumatic that experience was. Just wanted to share my pain and hate.

We won't hear music better than this in our life. Gilmour is the modern day Beethoven.

This song is a masterpiece. My favorite song of all time. I was 16 years-old when I first heard it and just fell in love with it and it's taken me nearly 30 years to truly understand the lyrics ("...leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground...to a life consumed by slow decay", "...looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us...to a glimpse of how green it was on the other side") . I now have a 16 year-old son myself. He recently heard me listening to the song and said, "Who's that? It's really good." I sat down with him and told him how much the song meant to me and told him to listen to it again 30 years later to see if the meaning of the song grows over time for him too. I can only hope he'll be telling my grandkids years from now how much the song means to him...and his dad.
