I lack the vocabulary to explain how seeing this makes me feel. Chris’ music and especially this song has been such an important part of my life for many years. Chris died March 9th 2005 & on March 13th 2005 I was severely injured in a bull riding accident that ended my non-illustrious rodeo career, that was a bad week to say the least. To see this song come to life in this video the way it has been done is so much better than I ever could have imagined. To see Ned in this video is such a blessing to my heart, and the man that plays the main character and the bikers did an outstanding job. Seeing this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in bringing my all time favorite song to life in a way that highly honors the musical hero of myself and countless others. Seeing is a tremendous blessing to me.

Was serving in the Navy in 1991, listening to Chris Ledoux. We really needed this today, a sad day in America.

Grew up listening to Chris Ledoux and Marty Robbins every night with my dad. He would put it on when everyone went to sleep. I swear I fell asleep to these guys for 3 years straight. Couldn't forget the words to the songs if I tried.

Oh man. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times as a kid this song was played in the pickup. Long live Chris Ledoux, one of the best singing storytellers to do It.

Some of my fondest memories is seeing your dad in concert in Indiana a couple times but my favorite shows were at the Calffry in Stillwater at the Tumbleweed. Thank you Ned for keeping his memory alive in all of us and for honoring him and his music the way you do.
  • I was at a concert at the Cheyenne Frontier Days and I will never forget him, he is the real deal and people like Chris don't come by very often. You should be proud of your dad and we will never forget Chris LeDoux ❤! That was one of my favorite songs of his and I have the whole set and thanks for sharing with us all and keep up the great work!

This is the best rendition of this song. This video is the most accurate portrait of the story. I am a city boy, my parents were appilation country folk. I'm a veteran, construction worker, I've worked in factories, the only thing I have not been is in the food service industry. Never been a biker, what they started out as I would have loved, what they became I don't want to be. Freedom of the road, freedom of the open range, are the flip side of the same coin. It is the truest form of true American freedom.

From growing up living and working ranches, riding bulls and broncs. To being grown and being a 1%er, I know exactly what that hat, and that cut meant. This is my all time favorite song. God bless Chris Ledoux

Chris is hands down one the greatest of all time. This song is hands down my favorite. My grandpa Mike was the one that first introduced me to Chris music back in the 90s when I was about 5. I have always loved his music. I remember lisin to Chris while on a tractor or now while on my phone while on a horse check cattle. I wish Chris still grace this earth I could only imagine what he would be writing and singing about.
