In this quick and easy Blender Grease Pencil animation tutorial we will create this 2D matrix effect.

This effect works from Blender 3.0 and above.
I’ll use Blender 4.1 for this because it happens to be my default version.

    Modifiers are awesome, and sometimes effects are created accidentally when playing around with modifiers stacks.

    Nice one, very clever use of the tool set. So cool to see this one come together. I wonder if you could set up a texture map with a set of Japanese Kanji characters and then have it randomly select a character from the list and place it at the same origin of the circle points. Not sure if this kind of thing exists natively in blender.
