When I was a little boy and I learned about solar power I often would think about how pointless it was to have solar collectors on the ground when we could just have them in space! Even better if we could have them around the sun itself! I never had a word for describing this until I was in high school when I came across the idea of Dyson spheres I got disappointed it wasn’t an original idea but also super happy someone else thought of it too and became super curious about far-future technologies ever since! Dyson spheres are my favorite!

I remember a couple years ago I had a paper due for a paper in English class. It had to be about something that doesn’t exist yet but one day could. I remembered watching this video before and was immediately inspired to write about a Dyson sphere. 100% on the paper - thanks Kurzgesagt!
