East Sarasota County was a man made situation. They kept the water control structures closed to allow the creek to drain and in turn the waters above that rose above levels that have never been seen. Houses flooded in areas that aren’t flood zones. Have never flooded. And most aren’t insured for flood because of it. While the town drained,out east drowned. And it was caused by a decision made by the county. It just sucks that people’s homes and possessions were sacrificed by the county

The crazy thing is this wasn't even a hurricane and it wasn't a direct hit. We already dodged 2 bullets this summer.

I guess since you think these people put their heart and soul into their business so they're going to get better relief packages and relief aid or whatever but I poured my heart and soul that just having a damn job and I'm still not even to make something as simple as rent and go to the grocery store and buy and by actual food to eat

From watching several Sarasota flood videos , I think people want to know why DeSantis wasn't there months ago with funds to improve drainage .
