  • I think this layout is a definite improvement to the original. Because I get to see old trains running under the modern trains.
  • Brilliant stuff Richard! I don't envy you with trying to keep multiple tracks across two different levels aligned at the baseboard joints - I have enough trouble with my single line layout 😅
  • Great to see an update. Layout is coming along nicely. I'd really like to see the tunnel and countryside scenery. Great work!!!

in this episode Richard says that he hopes that packing and gluing and ballasting will hold the rails firm on the curves without pinning down. In my layout in the garden shed we suffered with geographic tectonic shift.. The contraction and expansion of the rails with hot summers and cold winters combined with the slight swelling of the modular board base resulted in some serious land movement on my gradual station entrance curves. The lesson i take away is pinning the rail is as essential as the use of marine ply sub bases. Less is more.+ but but with five layers to rehouse I'm now busy building a bigger 18x10 shed to take the radius 4 and 5 curves. Thank you Richard; if you can do it then we can all do it. Great video series.

Always love seeing these updates! I wasn't sold on the station idea previously, but you've done a good job there incorporating it. Also, that banking out of the tunnel is so much better now! If you can get the other lines running like that you're onto a winner.
  • Thank you for the update Richard. As one of your subscribers, I look forward to seeing the progress. You took on a difficult build with this layout and you re finding the little snags that have to be overcome but there's no sign of fatigue in you as yet. The close running by the station platform is amazing. For me that was the highlight in this video. All the best at Accurascale. David.
  • Great to see your progress. Good luck in your new job role at Accurascale.
  • Been waiting agesssss for this update! So happy it’s finally out! Good job as always!
  • Hi Richard, thanks for the update and good luck in your new job. I have just ordered a 37 and 55 from Accurascale to run around my single line layout … under the sofa and round the back of the bookcase !!! All the best !!!
  • Fantastic update Richard. Good to hear you have sorted out the running issues! that's something I should of done before doing the scenery on my layout. I like the new station too it's going to look great once finished. - Nicholas.
  • Layout is starting to look really interesting. Don't envy through task of keeping all the baseboard joints level. Keep up the good work.
  • Wonderful update. Coming on nicely and 4 lines running parallel look fantastic even more so when the scenery arrives.

Great to see you using Thirsk as inspiration. Grew up round there and used the station regularly for 15 years.

It's coming together nicely. I really enjoyed seeing the Hall Class go round and I look forward to seeing the scenery added.
  • If you're concerned by having both stations together, have you looked about moving the heritage station to the other side?
  • It is indeed, getting exciting...👍 Great work... Congrats on the new job...👍
  • Appreciate the update Richard. Congratulations on the new role at Accurascale as the do make models to suit the ambition of your layout! Keep up the good work and please don’t leave so long for an update. Scenery for me
