China Halts Exports of Some Rare-Earth Processing Technologies

Publicado 2023-12-21
China is set to ban exports of technologies for making rare-earth metals and rare-earth magnets. The move by the world’s dominant supplier of the minerals might make it harder for the US and other western nations to bolster supplies of strategic raw materials. Paul Allen reports on Bloomberg Television.

China halts exports rare-earth processing technologies to the West is like a high school student trying to prevent his former professor from knowing some math formulas taught in his class.

China did similar things to Japan 🇯🇵 before but didn't work. It blocked the export of rare earths to Japan in 2010, after the captain of a Chinese fishing boat was arrested near the Japanese Senkaku Islands. - Japan then turned to Australia for the rare earths, causing harm to the Chinese economy. So it stopped the ban.
