I have this ritual at night before going to bed where I stretch, light a candle, make tea and relax. This video came up in the right time! Thank you for always sharing such heartwarming words and the shaolin wisdom.

“Perfectly tame your mind”, this is the Buddha's teaching. The Buddha did not say, “Perfectly tame someone else's mind.” You have to purify your own mind. If you cling to these thoughts of resentment and frustration again and again, you form a habit, and this habit will manifest before you in the Bardo in the form of a delusive perception which is the projection of your own mind, just like a TV show. This is what creates hell, it is the projections of one's own anger and resentment. Let go of it and make an effort to cultivate love. The only thing you should hold on to is love. Then you have no fear when you die, you will be born in the higher realms and slowly attain enlightenment. So do not worry about the faults of others, rather purify your own faults.” //Garchen Rinpoche

Dear Shi Heng, your tea talk like everyone of your wonderful explication was enlightening and inspirational. Your principals that you are teaching us to learn about our body and minds. Helping us to become better human beings. I am 72 and you lift my spirits and my desires to be a better person possible everyday. We are soo blessed to have you on this beautiful earth. ❤❤
  • The way he sips his tea is simply magnificent in that it's creating tranquil cymatic frequencies within. "Those who seek truth will never know comfort and those that seek comfort will never know truth ",loosely paraphrasing from The Kabalion. Words of wisdom are only for those that possess ears of understanding.

Thank you Shifu. There are few teachers that shine in comparison and even fewer who teach for free.

  • I just finished listening to this tea talk. Thank you this resonates with me. I train every day. As soon as I have a little time, my mind and my body tell me to GO! Of course outside a monastery, it is more difficult; the mind must be even more disciplined but I don't give myself a choice and I like that. We each have something to cultivate. It was a dream and I think I realized part of it. Thank you for sharing. Accept all my gratitude, and of all my heart beautiful path and good practice for your disciple. Amituofo 🙏🍁🍂⛩

Thank you Shifu for today’s talk. It was beneficial for me in many ways. One being that I got to learn a deeper sense of humility in hearing that you yourself don’t have all the answers. This is a reasonable concept, since you are only human just like the rest of us. But still somehow a surprising one, and one that gave me comfort in my own ignorance about certain things. That it is normal to not understand, that the growth of one’s understanding makes the journey a fulfilling experience. I also appreciate seeing your humorous nature. You have a wonderful sense of humour. I could probably listen to you talk for hours. Thank you again and blessings from Australia. 💛☀️🌻
  • What Shi Heng Yi communicates about monastic life, seems to me as itself the only truth and because I do embrace this way in my life as well (in a people’s society), I strongly believe that either officially or unofficially, every individual once has understood that living harmoniously with the self, is the only way to be then that is all it is! Fundamentally focusing and mastering the self is the only way not to be controlled by thoughts or the opinion of others! I always keep in mind a quote Shi Heng Yi shared with us during the training in the Shaolin Temple Europe this summer : “Be free within the structure”, meaning that freedom can be achieved only within the individual, who then can be free in any place and at any time. Thank you Shifu🙏🏻
