Hello all!

I've had a lot of people ask how I prepare my two bengals, Cabela and Jade, Raw diet. I have finally gotten around to making a video.

Here are the ingredients to the raw diet

You will need a grinder

10 lbs Bone In Skin On Chicken thighs
1lb of chicken hearts and gizzards (combined)
10-13 ounces of chicken livers
daily supplements for cats
one container (5 ounces) of plain Greek yogurt
One cup of water

Cut the chicken thighs into the appropriate size for your grinder

Add the water to the vitamins for easy mixing

Grind all the chicken, hearts and gizzards, and liver

Once all ground, add the vitamins and yogurt, mix well

Separate the finished mix into containers and proportions of your choice. I put a 1/4 cup of food into a half cup container.

freeze!
Make sure to leave some food in the fridge for feeding. Nothing worse than having to defrost food while your kitty screams at you.

Hearts are very good, but gizzards are really just filler. Find an Asian Market for buying chicken hearts. Grind the hearts & liver before last so the meat flushes it through the grinder. Run a little small ice cubes into the grinder last to flush the remaining meat & bone bits out. You'll have much less waste & cleaning! And keep everything ice cold, meat, grinder head, water, pan, everything!

The gray Cat dive is just like me when i see food hahaha
  • yogurt is useless after its been frozen because it kills the probiotics in it. you might have better gut health if you add the yogurt right before feeding. just a suggestion. awesome video. thanks for sharing with us.
  • I'm so glad to see someone feed their cats an appropriate diet! Keep it up!
  • Hi Amanda! I just adopted two sisters who are now 14 weeks old. They are doing well but before they get too used to the dry food I’d like to transition them to a raw food diet. Thing is, I’m no spring chicken and my concern is the difficulty that might present with cleaning the grinder. I have some hand arthritis that makes scrubbing, manipulation and handling of heavy pots difficult. Thanks for this video, prep appears easy enough.

...after all, they don't have those type teeth 4 nothing! I cut my cat's muscle meat in chunks big enuf where his teeth HAVE 2 sink ALL THE WAY IN DOWN 2 HIS GUM LINE so the cleaning & massaging activity takes place. As I mentioned, I am ASTOUNDED at how quickly this benefited his mouth condition. :-)

Hi! Love the video and your baby's! Ordered my meat grinder today, now I am getting excited! I have a 3lbs Devon Rex can I use only half of your recipe? I am just starting with with the raw food diet with him.
  • Please update your description with the name/specs of your grinder Maybe a link for the supplements
  • @AereForst
Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. Do you grind the bones as well? Also what make and model grinder is that? Lastly what kind of supplement do you use?

I don't do the synthetic vitamins. I add fish oil to mine. I also add eggs. The chicken hearts and liver provides the Taurine the kitties need. My kitties hair has a better shine to their fur. the greek yogurt is a nice touch to add the probiotics in. Very cool idea about the individual plastic containers.
