Instead of going for the fast food only, try the slow food. Mučkalica, goulash, paprikaš, different soups like čorba, stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls, oven baked beans (prebranac), bean soup (čorbast pasulj), fish soup, cabbage stew etc. And last, the letter c is pronounced like zz in pizza, so Bucko is pronounced Butsko. J is like y in you.
  • Serbia has been known for Šljivovica brandy since medieval times. The plum plant used to make brandy has been planted since ancient times. It's just a little stronger than standard Western drinks. E.g. Whiskey has 38% alcohol, while Brandy has between 50 and 54% alcohol!
  • Some things you have to try, to understand Serbian cuisine, like things we grew up with and things we eat every day, in my opinion are veal soup, army beans (pasulj), sarma and some type of slow cooked beef dish like oxtail or goulash or shank in kaymak.
  • You should try Sarma, it is our best winter meal, it is minsed meat (beff and pork) with rise and spices, wraped in sour cabage leaves, cooked in low heat, for couple of hours.. We usualy eat it in winter, but you can find it in restourants always, even in summer. Very delicious! 👌👌👍👍

My personal favorite burek in Belgrade is Ljupče. He is a macedonian guy, and they are known for making best bureks in Balkan.
  • Even though your Chanel is still small. I love it! If you want come to Macedonia! I am right now in the capital city Skopje! I can be your guide! Lots of love from Macedonia 🇲🇰
  • In central Serbia we also have , what you mention that you taste in Bulgaria ( Banica ), and we called Gibanica😁 Difference between Banica or Gibanica and Burek, is in pasta or Testo in Serbian.... Domestic Banica or Gibanica is made from hand made pasta ( you spread pasta over table in one large peace , and put cheese and you roll that 🌀 For Burek , you put layers of pasta , like lasagna 😁

If you can find in Belgrade a dish called "komplet lepinja". It was recently voted one of the best breakfasts in the world, so a recommendation 😊

The best place for burek in Serbia is your nearest bakery... bakery in your neborhood. If it is Trpkovic, for example, then lucky you. If not, every burek will be just fine for breaskfast as long as it is fresh and hot. Nobody will start his car and drive half an hour to by a burek.
  • My god :/ Bucko's toppings are biff and chicken salats, paprika and others are there just for show, that's a must for some other time, trust me :)) U guys are great truly, such a cool video
