The Gospel of Matthew invites us to reflect on our human nature wanting to be assured, just like Peter asked what we'll have or what we'll gain in exchange for following Christ and His mission. It's a normal feeling for us humans to seek assurance, and from here, our trust and faith can grow greater because we'll now seek Him when we want to have assurance. We are also constantly reminded that our Christian discipleship is a discipleship of serviceโthat once we follow Christ, we should also be ready to be in the service of other people.
Reflect more on this as we celebrate the Kapamilya Daily Mass today, August 20, 2024 with Father Tito Caluag.
