Smelled an obvious electrical fire and ran out to investigate. A car two houses down was smoking from the cowl and ran for my trusty, and very un-charged, fire extinguisher. Another ex-sailor came out as I was tossing that useless can on the ground and jumped in to help, yanked his 5lb halon bottle from his car, and obviously did nothing for a Class Charlie. So we strung garden hoses from both of homes to just do basic damage control to contain it to just the car being fucked.
What I thought was funny were the 8th through 15th responders giving the 1st two advice. The one that sticks out in my mind was an obvious Micheal Bay fan due to him yelling from 25yds away, "Stand back because it's going to blow up!". We didn't like him too much and "accidentally" gave him an "errant" garden hose squirt. People wearing silk shirts, spiky hair, and Jersey Shore glasses love giving advice, but for some reason hate water...it's weird.
Anyway, this is what happens to your car if you call 911 with a car fire.
