Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House. Harris, expected to be the Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential election, said she had "frank and constructive" talks with the Israeli Prime Minister. She pressed Netanyahu to accept a ceasefire deal, expressing deep concern over Gaza's high death toll and the dire humanitarian situation. She emphasised the urgency to end the brutal conflict, taking a tougher stance than President Biden. Netanyahu met separately with Biden. The US President also asked Netanyahu to finalise a truce deal as soon as possible.
