"be the person you wish you had" is so sweet. Good for you I'm proud of you <3
  • I’m in the same kind of slump rn with partying and stuff (did already quit smoking cigarettes 7 months ago) and this is exactly what I needed to hear🫶 in this together!!

my dads an alcoholic and he used to smoke weed and vape so whenever i see someone doing literally any substance it scares the literal shit out of me. i’m really proud of you for being able to recover

I feel a lot of people, including me, who use substances fall into this middle category where it's not ruining your life or anything, but it might be holding you back, and it can be hard to give up when the negatives aren't super strong. You sort of use that fact to justify continuing. I really appreciate you sharing your perspective on this, it's been very helpful in my reflection of my own life. Keep up the great content :)

that’s super awesome man, definitely good to get ahead of things. i’m 4 days sober again from alcohol after a relapse and consequently a month long bender just before i hit 3 months, really awesome to see one of my fave creators talk abt sobriety openly. thanks carrington :)

That's great Carrington, you're young and you had your fun and now you're moving onto your next phase. I did the same thing and it's amazing how the fog lifts when you're not smoking and the motivation comes in. You made a wise and not to mention healthy decision. Congratulations proud of you!

Love the video, and I agree the fear of coming off as pretentious is real, but you're just doing you and doing what you think is best for you, so props to you. You've grown so much from it, and that's all that matters. I agree that everyone has their own choices on how they want to regulate themselves, and if your decision to go sober has worked, then there is nothing wrong with it. I'm still not completely sober, as in I still drink. I don't do drugs, and this is more for cultural reasons, but I've always wanted to try. Just afraid to start cause of being judged in the same way, but going with your approach "not tonight" might help. Will definitely add it to my New Year's resolution. Anyway, love you, man and keep up the good work!

This is really great to hear babe, everyone has their tough times in life and some of us never get out of that phase unluckily enough.

My man keep going I know that it's never easy but through the struggle comes reward
  • @jsylvc3100
thank you so much for this, genuinely. society puts "sobriety" on such a high pedestal that some people feel they can never try it, but what you've shown me + what you've achieved is so important (for me). I automatically put a lot of pressure on it and in turn, I stop myself from ever dedicating myself for longer than a week. You've helped me realize what I need to do, thank you so much <3 it has to come with good intentions, not to punish yourself, but to open new doors.

The realness of this video gave me that little bit of motivation I was still lacking to go sober. Gotta love when content actually inspires people. Thanks carrington
