  • NOTE: At the end of the video it says that we can change the Amps of the inductor to modify the behaviour of the circuit, this is wrong, it should say *Henrys*. Not sure how this translation error happened, in the original video and script it says Henrys. I will check in to this to avoid similar problems in the future 😁 by the way, new video on how X-Ray works is coming soon :) - EP -
  • It's not free energy, it is raising the voltage but reducing the duty cycle. So instead of steady flow of 1 volt, it will create pulses of 2 volt at 50% duty cycle (i.e. remaining on for only 50% of time). Free energy is when u r creating more energy than u r putting into the system, that is both voltage and current should increase.
  • I doubt anyone understands this but a jewel thief is more or less a Tesla coil. Although tesla used the bifiler coil as a capacitor. More so if you at a capacitor with the same Capacity as the inductor in series it becomes a High frequency pulse amplifier.

Many products will reject a battery at 1.3 Volts and say "low battery". This is like putting 15 gallons of gasoline in our car and have it show empty when we use the first 2 gallons. The Joule Thief helps us get back what would be wasted.
  • Thank you for the spectacular explanation of materials and visual of operation
  • "How Does the Joules Thief ⚡Free Energy Work?" it's not free energy...
  • Please requesting you make a video on digital vernier calipers

I know motorcycle ignition coil have similar mechanism, but if I wanna use it to deplete my motorcycle battery, will I have to use additional components?
  • Great video. Right at the end "a few microAmps or MilliAmps" should be microHenries or milliHenries.
  • I built a couple of those but still dont fully understand them. I even looked at them with an oscilloscope and I see what happens but it still puzzles me a bit. I dont really understand why the voltage goes higher and higher. When the magnetic field of the coil collapses it induces the high voltage. Then the transistor closes connection so the voltage can only go through the LED. But THEN the transistor switches on again.. Why doesnt the voltage just go to the negative terminal of the battery ? Or will the voltage induced be in series with the battery ?? Oh maybe I got it ?? Is the induced voltage in series with the battery over and over, thus increasing until it can flow through the LED (and being capped by the led ? Lol if that is correct just writing this comment made me understand it. I'll check to verify with my oscilloscope. PS: Thanks for the video ☺ I can clearly see that you put lots of effort in it :) awesome animations and explanation. Still hard to get your head around.
