(Update: I know now that the line is actually 'A stack of lies is not a firm foundation', but I'm still going to hear it as 'sacrifice' because it tragically fits so well).

this song was definitely overshadowed by queen of mean. best song in this movie and possibly the entire franchise. amazing writing and amazing vocals!! it sounds like something a disney princess would sing

Watching this feels like a summary of the whole journey of Descendants. Nothing can replace Descendants in my heart.

People need to realize that when she says "...Or did you see yourself in a way that wasn't true," that can have multiple meanings for multiple different situations/mindsets that ultimately lead to friends and family leaving a person. For example if someone is very upset about their life and is depressed about the things that they've had happened to them, there's a likelihood that some people will end up being blinded by the flaws and issues within their past and no longer be able to see the good things that they now have that they've gotten since they got away from those bad parts of their past and because of that their friends will end up leaving them and so will the other people they care about, and as much as I hate to admit it if they are going through that it is only because they were blinded by their own issues that are no longer relevant to the point that everyone else that was trying to be there for them and be around them didn't want to be around them because they could only ever call back the things they hated from their past issues. And that's just one way to perceive this song without it having a direct tie to what the intended original meaning is in this movie-
