SOOO, instead of donating some items of clothing that may or may not end up in a landfill, I decided to get a little more sustainable and give them a new life!
I always love the challenge of flipping existing items, and these 3 items definitely got my 7 brain cells A-CHUGGIN'
ANYWHO I hope you have fun watching!

Rachel's continuing side quest to befriend crows is what I'm here for

Rachel: I need to get rid of one of my taupe maxi skirts Also Rachel: look at this taupe pencil skirt I just got

YOU SHOULD MAKE A MATCHING LITTLE CORSET FOR ONE OF YOUR LITTLE GUYS WITH THE EXTRA BLAZER FABRIC!!! I don't even sew but I collect dolls and sometimes I thrift a piece that looks just like their clothes and I am dead serious when I say matching outfits with your own little guys is one of the most joyous experiences ever!

we seriously need a mens version of thread up because finding clothes as a dude that isnt just sports wear or graphic tees is next to impossible. like i wanna wear cute cottagecore outfits too :V

Offer your Crows something shiny, they love tinkering with things and will sometimes add it to their nests. and if you're really lucky they sometimes return the favor and bring something to you. Good luck, future Queen of the Crows.

Rachel, just so you know, in Adobe reader, you can print out the patterns in just your size. That way the pattern only has your size lines to cut out. Its on the right hand side of the page, it looks like stacked pages icon. It's called layers. You click into it and all the sizes should be listed. You unclick the ones you don't need and that way you are left with only the lines to cut out in your particular size. I hope this makes sense. There are loads of tutorials on how to print just your size online. Lee :)
  • You feeling weird about owning three taupe skirts while there are people out there that wear exactly the same color blue jeans everyday.
  • When I saw the embroidery machine, I was very confused for a moment. I'm so impressed with how you've leveled up your sewing skills over the last couple years. Seriously, you even used the iron, which made me wonder whose channel I was watching. :)

The cookie tin bit made me laugh. It reminded me of a time when I got a similar tin of cookies and brought it to a friend's house to share. Someone asked why I brought over my sewing kit. They were stunned that it had cookies in it.

"It's pronounced 'clothes'." "No it's noooot." Gosh dang it Rachel I was trying to drink that tea, your tone of voice and expression were just so darn perfect.

The secret pants may have been a last minute thing but it's my favourite out of the three items. Even if it looks almost the same as before, there is no chafing now! And as someone who has to wear a pair of those special little shorts under every single dress or skirt during summer, I highly approve of the concept. Great job, as always!

The cookie tin bit got an audible laugh out of me and my dog looked at me weird from her spot next to me on the couch. Good job lol 👍👍👍
  • Watching the video with my wife. I thought the Schrodinger's Cookie Tin bit was hilarious. Made my day!

I have to say, I appreciate this community/comments section. As someone who's current reconstructing their own clothing, I love to see support for making your clothing work for you vs raptor screeching about "how dare you ruin that XYZ, I'd have left it the way it was" 🙄. Like, the Blazer was Hella cute to start, but it's even better as a corset vest. And I can barely stitch straight, but damn do I want an embroidery machine now 😂

So, I have a book titled Heloise's Housekeeping Hints, and in it, she suggests that you time your closet clearing to when you're really angry. According to Heloise (whose book also suggests going with the thinner bacon to save money because your husband will only know the difference if you tell him 😉), you're less willing to be sentimental when you're pissed off, and your closet will be cleaner in the end. Not sure if I agree with it or not, but there you go! 🙃
  • 1. The outfit is AMAZING!!!! 2. I'm in love with this idea of changing clothes you have that you don't really wear into something you will wear.
  • @katy6081
If you have the means, investing in an overlocker machine makes it a breeze to keep those inner seams looking nice. It was a game changer for me!
  • "You really can't tell unless you start doing really high kicks. - Which, if you're me, happens more than you would think..." - This is so true - and I aspire to move more freely like you do!

The blazer scraps could be made into a small dog treats bag for Frodo! Maybe a video of making costumes/toys for your dog 🐕
