Her vocals are definitely slept on. Just because she doesn’t sing all these crazy high notes and riffs. But she has a beautiful voice and she switches between her chest and head voice so effortlessly. She’s just really easy to listen to! Idk how else to explain it!

I swear half the reason she appeals so much to us old farts is her vocabulary. She must read voraciously. Her reference to the albatross is as a weight. We talk about an albatross around your neck as a weight that holds you back. It’s an old image that is pretty much lost today. So many of her references are historical. Her lyrics are a treasure hunt. ❤ Thanks for your reactions, I always look for them.

I Look in Peoples Windows is so slept on. It’s a metaphor for scrolling social media bc you miss someone so you’re hoping you’ll see them in a picture (aka a ‘window’ into someone’s life). She also feels left out from a lot of things bc of her career/touring and also inevitable loss of some friends after a relationship ends and seeing them get together on social media (people over to drink wine, attend Christmas parties from outside). I wish it was a longer song w a killer bridge.
