I didn't know you could be an active coach and still get inducted into the hall of fame. Legend
-
"Those wins or loses fade away but those relationships stick with you forever" - Gregg this means a lot to me WE LOVE YOU COACH POP!!
-
The same guy who coached The Admiral and Duncan will be coaching Wemby…..just unbelievable
-
Something just hit me about this HOF class---Pau won it all in 2009 & 2010, Dirk in 2011, Wade in 2012 & 2013 & Parker (Pop) in 2014 (6 years straight).

I wish Craig Sager was still here to see this. Him and Pop had great chemistry with their in game interviews.
-
Gotta love Pop as a coach, and also as a very humorous person
-
Pop changed my perspective of what building a franchise is all about. Has 5 rings, but was consistently in the playoffs like clockwork. Nothing but respect of the consistency and ability to raise players. Btw, ultra respect for giving a shout out to Gary Payton and talking about the Sonics. Pure loyalty to the Spurs and remembering what fans support.
-
It's always about humility and personal relationships with Pop. No wonder the association is full of coaches, executives, and front office guys that were mentored by him. You're the greatest ever, coach!
-
This is the most genuine speech I have heard from a coach in the NBA HOF ceremony ever. There have been some great ones but I think we might have to put this in the top 3. Him telling everyone basketball doesn’t love you back and saying his players did everything is just class. I hate the spurs but they deserved the success they have. I honestly now hope he can get another and be argued again Phil, and that is coming from a person who grew up with Kobe and thinks Michael is the Goat with Lebron right behind. He deserved being the first active coach or player to get into the hall of fame
-
As a laker fan I love, respect and appreciate coach pop and everything he’s done for the game not just on the court but speaking up about issues off the court as well.
-
Feel blessed to have seen that 2003 San Antonio championship live. Class act organization in every way led by a hall of fame person like Pop. Well deserved!
-
Forget about the wins and championships, this is just a GREAT MAN! 🐐
-
Pop is the greatest coach. I'm a Lakers fan, born and raised. Sure Phil Jackson won LA a lot of championships. but there ain't no one like Pop. Staying with one organization for so long is a testament to what kind of person he is and how you just wouldn't want to get rid of him. He's a rare one of a kind coach and it'll be sad to see him retire one day.
-
"You guys sit down! Dont speak just sit there." Just like old days. They are all legends that Popo has trained and coached. Popo is still serving the world and legends will never fade.
-
The GREATEST coach of all time, we love you Pop! San Antonio is forever in debt to you 🙏🏽
-
Pop is a godamn legend. On top of his 5 rings, his teams were almost always contenders and thats very very hard to be in the NBA. Nothing but respect for this guy!
-
Absolutely an all-time Top 3 coach in the NBA. As a Celtics fan, I wasn't around for Red. Phil Jackson is my second go to.... but Popovich has commanded so much respect, so long. He not only commands respect through discipline and hard work, he strives to make his players & staff better people. You can see it in Becky Hammon's speech, how much Gregg means to her personally. To me, Popovich is the ultimate coach to model and emulate. Instill a winning culture, without scandal and toxicity. Build up people under him to become better human beings. I love this guy. He's the evidence you can win it on the highest level without sacrificing a shred of integrity, ethics and morals.
-
The final words from Pop's speech is very powerful and inspirational. Relationships are what truly matters, and the world can learn a lot from how the Spurs played basketball
-
The coaching GOAT. Sustained excellence, made bad players good, good players great, and great players into hall of famers. He is a true inspiration and his coaching tree lives on having impressive success. Thank you for everything Pop and congratulations.

Next to Red and that Knick player who coached the Lakers and Bulls to 11 championships, this guy is one of the best ever. A true champion and a great leader of men. Congrats Gregg.
