Château de la Grifferaie, S5, E35 "Sounds like a plan"

Publicado 2024-08-11
We tune the piano, and play it. And we do some other stuff like thinning the forest and building screens for the summer heat. But I think the thing that might most capture your attention is our discussion of doing a "marriage building" retreat in France next summer.

The perfect beginning to my Sunday morning, listening to you playing “GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS” on your beautiful piano!
  • @debpate9405
Great is thy faithfulness, one of my favorites! Thank you!❤

Several comments from me today: 1. Thumbs up to a marriage retreat. People go to France for yoga retreats - why not marriage? It would make a lovely anniversary gift. 2. Your dad was a wise man, and you were lucky to be blessed with piano lessons. 3. The clearing of the underbrush looks great. 4. Three cheers for window screens!!! I don't understand why they aren't common in France. Good ole North American sensibility! 5. I like knowing that you read the comments. Hopefully, most are constructive. Safe travels back to the States, Leslie!

Dear Rob and Leslie, I love watching you videos. Your chateau brought me to your channel but your kind and caring approach to life has kept me watching. You are both an inspiration for the better on so many levels.

I think a marriage retreat would definitely be right down your alley, you would both really enjoy it and have so much to offer by way of being a good example yourselves in how you conduct the work at the chateau as well as your knowledge and connections to bring in the right speakers and fun activities you two could round up. Big Yes vote!

Shout out from Colorado! Rob & Leslie, you both are very balanced, with your faith, your reasoning and evaluations of situations! Love watching your daily events at the Chateau! Enjoyed Sunday morning with you at the piano Great is Thy Faithfulness! Bless you both! 😊

I love the work you’re doing reclaiming the wooded areas around the chateau. It’s looking lovely. Your hard work is appreciated. Then you started with the hymns again and I teared up. Bless you Rob.
  • Your Dad was wise! It’s such a GIFT to be able to play the piano! One you get to share! I could sit and listen to that all day! Beautiful! Thank you!
  • @potterkelly487
Thank you Rob & Leslie! Your reward is the smile, laughter, enjoyment and eagerness of your students. You’re both good people and try your best, none of us are perfect. 🇨🇦❤️

I am a Christian and your playing hymns is so lovely to hear. But in addition to the beautiful music is taking the background where you are singing and playing. I personally love the soft green wall colors and wonderful decor. It so enhances the music. I could listen to your music for hours without getting bored.
  • Love the piano!!! I was brought up in the Baptist church and was in the choir so was singing along as you played. Thank you for letting us share your life including the both the highs and the lows. Rob you are so talented when it comes to adapting to a situation. Leslie is just beyond lovely, patient and kind. Thank you for your little Bible lesson!!! You are making a difference a light on a hill❤❤❤❤❤
  • Hello dear Rob and Leslie, Having visited (and fixed mower blades) .....you do not owe anyone explanations. You two have worked hard and have been smart. Keep on doing what you are doing. Love Hannah and Franck
  • My late father was a band director and a professional trumpeter. My stepmother has a master's in piano performance. She was the choir director in her church. Like you, I was given the gift of music from a young age. Your beautiful home just wasn't complete without a piano. Since this it the first video where you actually play it, it couldn't be more perfect or appropriate than to inaugurate it by playing "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "I surrender all." Well done!

Listening to your playing at the start reminded me of sitting around the piano as a young girl listening to My Grandmother play her favorite hymns. Beautiful
  • @RhondaBAZ

We did a Weekend to Remember, it’s with Family Life. We did there preparing for marriage weekend and eight years later did there married weekend as a recap. Great ministry! Gave us some great core and foundational tools for our marriage we still use today. It’s a great idea for you all to do a marriage retreat. Love it.
