Amber, you nailed it. Music was for everybody. Thr radio stations played a rock song then they'd play this. Then they'd play Glen Campbell or Charlie Rich. It was just good music and we all grew up happily listening to it together ❤️.

They are saying "grazing in the grass is a gas baby..can you dig it? Dig? LOL this takes me back to my childhood. Great tune! Maybe us old folks are taking it for granted that you know what "gas" and "dig it" means... wow man, that's a gas... mind blowing.. a trip.. dig it means to really like or get something. Digging the channel.. it's a gas man!

Their other big hit "Love or Let Me Be Lonely" was one of my favorites on Radio back in the day. This was in the time of great vocal groups like The 5th Dimension.

The "sock it to me" part was a staple on "Rowen and Martin's Laugh In" which was huge in the late 60s/early 70s. They would often have a giant boxing glove come out of nowhere and "sock it to" all the regulars on the show.
