Published 2022-08-18
With no break since leaving the filth of the dustyard, Alistair McGowan, Ann Widdecombe, Miquita Oliver, Zoe Lucker, Tyger Drew Honey and Colin Jackson are now up against the clock in the age before the dawn of the railways.

Six celebrities travel back in time to the relentless graft of Victorian Britain, spending four days in four different 19th-century workplaces. Presenter Fi Glover and historian Ruth Goodman help drive them through the age that laid the foundation for modern Britain.

Colin rocked it. Walking around the horses like he’d done it forever. He’s lovely!!

"I was the vice president of the RSPCA...I will eat pork but I would never work in an abattoir" so you'd rather just ignore it as long as you're not the one holding the knife and its been turned from an 'animal' into 'meat'

If Ann signed up to this program, she should just get on with it, however she does make this comical 😂
  • Ann would have been out of the job and into the workhouse. She doesn't seem to have grasped that there would be a cost to exercising such principles. Being sacked and possibly beaten.

Anne would not have made it to her age in the real 19th century. She would have either perished penniless on the streets from hunger without being able to keep job, or she would have been "offed" by a worker that couldn't have afforded her sabotaging.

Why did Ann even show up for the show If she wasn’t willing to do the basic work they did back then? She’s so abrasive
  • One thing I never did understand about the rabbit, chicken , trout situation is what’s the difference with the trout why are they so against the other too but not fish like make it make sense 🤦‍♀️

Think if they had stayed at the Inn a bit longer than they would have gotten the hang of the horses and kitchen etc. Tyger worked to death did every task without complaining he was exhausted that when he went to eat he brought it back up again.

Ann would have been fired soooo many times lol 😂
  • @ukchristian28
I am a bit disappointed in Ann. I would have thought she would have just got on and done whatever was required.
  • @Pennydeadful
To say Colin was not comfortable horses initially, he completely turned that around in the end.

26:20 The best impression Alistair McGowan has ever done, and it's of a mouse with a piece of cheese.
  • @ross1748
It would have been hilarious if Ann supplied the royal mail staff with a doggy bag to leave with so they got their food 🤣
  • @ethanmcquat
This is what society higher up pm rich folk want back in the future of UK
  • Ann was truly most disappointing : Requirments ; STRICT OBEDIENCE. TO BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD.

You had to be very smart to survive...so much to learn and retain in a short time or you would never have a job.
