I truly believe enthusiasts like you guys are the reason we got Hyperia, this country needs to know how profitable a great ride can be! So many parks just sit with their line ups, we gotta show them we all are hungry for more!! Fingers crossed for an RMC in the uk at some point

They did a scare maze before the Smiler was completed and it was a victorian santorium and it was the same "we're here to help" (but not really) theme and as you went through the maze; the smiling got bigger and happier but the 'patients' got worse and worse and more demented!

This was my favorite ride as a kid and I'd never even been to the UK. The concept, the theming, the story, it was all super cool. I loved it so much.

Rode this at the end of April and I found my limit. Waiting at the vertical lift hill my eyes were spinning in different directions. It might be one I skip if I return to Alton Towers in the future, but I can see why many people do like it. The park has a good variety of rides, so missing one isn't a huge problem. Hope you two got the chance to do one of the track walks while you were there.
