I hope the Scott the Woz Encyclopedia comes out soon. The lore is getting really hard to follow.
-
Fun fact: the English publication of this book plagiarized a ton from the fan-run Super Mario Wiki, and said wiki compiled a massive list of all of the incorrect info that made it to print before it had been properly edited on the site.
-
Strange to think that Wario and Daisy are both Mario Land Characters. By pure technicality, Wario is more closely linked to Daisy than Luigi is.
-
This book stole from a wiki. People on Mario Wiki were so excited for this book because there would finally be official names for articles with only foreign or outright made-up names. When the book came out, it had those same names and the writer admitted he just copy and pasted from a wiki anyone can edit.

Finally! All human knowledge I need in one, out-of-date volume!
-
Can I just say that the 2D Mario art is some of the best depictions of these characters. Genuinely love it to death
-
What always suprises me is how natural Scott's sense of humour and timing is even in his unscripted, less edited content like this. It just shows how good Scott is at presenting information in a fun, engaging way.

In case you're wondering, the games excluded in the last few pages are the edutainment games, which includes the Mario's Early Years and Teaches Typing series, as well as Mario's Time Machine and Mario Is Missing, also Hotel Mario They were literally that embarrassed about them, yet they included the small cameo in Earthbound. Nintendo has an insecurity, I see
-
whew, was looking for a video on the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia just before this was posted.
-
The classic book that everyone kinda wanted but nobody ever actually got at school book fairs
-
Did not expect to see Ian Flynn's name in the credits! He wrote the Sonic comics for a long time and recently became an official writer for Sonic games! And I think I own this book! Either I never noticed or I just forgot
-
Scott being more knowledge than an encyclopedia is always entertaining
-
51:55 BeatNES is the name of the electroplankton (shown in the footage) for anyone curious, it's essentially a very basic NES sample sequencer and one of the sound presets is Super Mario Bros, there's also one for Gyromite of all games as well
-
The most I’ve ever been excited for a Scott Storytime since the Rex Mohs Cruci-Fiction Special.
-
Drinking game: any time you find a mistake, error, or plagiarized material in this book, take a sip. Not a shot, a sip.
-
Fun Fact: There’s one version where there’s no advertising removal, and the actual part that can be removed is the yellow one, revealing a blue front with a drawing of Mario, Luigi and Peach
-
I randomly looked at my copy of this on my bookshelf this morning and thought, "Scott the Woz probably has read that entire book like it's a novel." Because you uploaded this today of all days I still don't know if this is a dream or not.
-
Scott's appreciation of the Land series is based, these definitely both deserve a modern remake
-
Funny thing about the Super Mario World subtitle being Super Mario Bros. 4: that's actually what it is. For nearly all of its development time, it was called SMB4. It was changed closer to the end of development to SMW.

31:40 The red star should of totally been used in the bowser fight. Like instead of walking around that girant lava cylinder you could fly through it and avoid all the bullet bill. That would of been awesome
