There's never been a better time to love Shounen battle Anime and Manga, and there's never been a better shounen battle anime OR manga than Jujutsu Kaisen. (Though some are just as best.)

apologies for the slight audio stutter in the intro/outro, it's a result of two different editors working on the video with different render settings, and very long story short, it can't be fixed without undoing other work. I decided it was acceptable because what I'm saying is still perfectly legible, but if it's too distracting for you, there are no glitches between 10:00 and 34:06 Edit: It's also come to my attention that "Eichiro Oda's" picture and the footage of "Akira Toriyama" are misattributed. Sorry. I should have caught that when reviewing the edits.

My favorite comment I've seen about Jujutsu Kaisen is that the main trio shares two brain cells and Megumi has both of them.

Nobara: I love myself when I'm shopping for pretty dresses and I love myself when I'm KICKING ASS! How do you not love a character like that?

One thing I found refreshing while watching this show was how Nanami dealt with Yuji. Nanami never looked down on Yuji or belittled him just because he was younger. He was always simply worried about him because he was younger and did not want him to get hurt or experience something that would damage him emotionally. He wasn't one of those typical anime adults that expect teeangers, who are still children, to do all sorts of insane shit for their age. Now, yes, he expects him to fight curses and survive, but he also never forgets that Yuji is a child and tries to keep him safe at all costs. He's one of the best example of an adult that I have seen in anime.

The fact that Sukuna is a true villain is very refreshing to me. He' just evil, he has no tragic story thus far that makes us sympasize with him, he's a pure form of ill will and the manga is not afraid to show it.

The possibility of Sukuna just switching out whenever he wants gives me anxiety
  • Anyone else gonna mention how the Baseball Episode is completely canon and not a filler, cause that’s amazing.

One thing I really like about jujutsu kaisen is that the main trio actually gets along with each other. Unlike Sasuke who treats both Naruto and Sakura like trash and even tries to kill them Megumi does like Itadori and also Itadori and Nobara often prank Megumi and force him out of his serious personality.

One of my friends told me that he read the manga a couple years back and told me it would be the next big thing once the anime was announced. I guess he's just a prophet
  • Ever since I saw the scene where Gojo stopped his fight to travel an expedient distance just to interrupt Itadori watching Lord of The Rings and bring him back to said fight because it would be "a good learning experience", I knew this was one of the best series I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

The fact that Nanami willingly accepted his fate and deliberately threw in the towel seconds after Mahito unleashed his domain is a testament of Gege's complete understanding of how Shounen Power Scaling works.

I re-read the manga and I literally screamed when Yuji waved off his grandfather talking about his parents

Can't wait to see the Shibuya Arc animated. Can't wait to hear the collective "THUD" when thousands of jaws hit the floor during multiple parts throughout the whole Arc.

When Yoshinobu pulled out that guitar, I think I finally got him as a character. Like he dresses like a traditional buddhist monk but he has all these piercings, and he pulls out an electric guitar for his curse techniques? He's a sellout. He probably was some kind of rebel in his 20s and 30s, maybe fronted a band. But time and society ground down his idealism and now he's just another hidebound conservative who thinks that wearing his piercings at 76 means he's still punk rock even as he goes against everything he once stood for.
  • As a manga reader I can say the series only gets better with the anime only raising the already high quality.

18:40 It has been started in the manga that when curses die, as long as the negative emotions towards something still exists, the curse will be reborn, but they lose all memories and powers of their former incarnation. It can be assumed from the nature of the current Mahito that all incarnations of Mahito were big trouble makers, leading me to believe that unlike Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon, who all have stayed undercover for hundreds of years, Mahito's previous incarnations would recklessly die in battle due to them pursuing their basic desires, meaning that they are reincarnated pretty often and therefore most don't get enough time to develop.
  • This show genuinely helped me over my grandmas death. The first time I watched this show was the night my grandma died. Not only did it help me come to terms, but it kept me from crying all night .
  • I remember when I first got into Anime, my favorite thing was hearing people present logic that I would never have come up with on my own. Jujutsu Kaisen's episodes were the first time I've felt that in years "If there was a button to kill everyone I hate, I probably wouldn't press it. But if there was a button to kill everyone who hates me..."

By far one of my favorites in a long time. The production was amazing and the characters are fantastic. Plus, Gojo is top Tier Husbando.

"The next words that spilled from my lips came from so deep within my gut that they made everything else I'd ever said feel like a lie." This show cemented itself as one of my favorites as soon as Yuji let that phrase out. I had to go back and listen to that line multiple times, just to let it sink in completely, and, despite how long it's been since that episode came out, I keep thinking of that phrase. As a writer myself, I've written some fantastic lines to deliver as much rage and drama as I could with the space I had, but that line is just about a work of genius. Kugisaki being Kugisaki doesn't hurt, either.
