It talks about the small details strewn all about Midgar (both top-side and in the slums) that point to just how much thought went into what it must be like to live in a place like that, and also calls out some of the bigger-picture things that you might not catch because they're purposefully omitted to make a point.

It's really cool to see how observant you are ^^ The "hold square to menu" button appears in cutscenes when you will immediately start a battle after. If you hold it, it will disappear, and the menu will open just after that cutscene and before the battle, so you have a chance to fix your equipment and materia.

Oh btw, when the menu option popped up during the cutscene before Cloud and Tifa find the ghosts attacking the slums, it's giving you the option to go into menu and tweak Materia etc before a battle/sequence where you get no menu time beforehand, so just press/hold that button to get set up. You'll see it again in later cutscenes so you can take advantage of it.

Using Cure is much more effective and efficient than potions. You can also use it out of battles and once you get Magnify materia, if you connect it with the Healing materia, it will heal everyone in the party at once.

I’m loving this series so far! I’ve never played any of the FF games, so this is a completely new experience for me 😅 but of course I’ve heard of and seen Cloud and his giant sword before, I don’t think you can spend much time on the internet without hearing or seeing references to him and these games haha 😂

Having to hold triangle to open doors or squeeze through tight spaces are actually hidden loading screens.

The victory fanfare song is definitely ingrained in most peoples brains I'm sure. Glad you're having fun with it. I recently picked this up as well and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. I'd be interested in seeing you play through the original FF7 at some point too.

This is propably my favourite playthrough I've ever watched, no joke. It's so refreshing to see how much you're enjoying yourself, the story is good and the game itself is a treat to the eye. Not to mention the nusic! I've actively watched every episode to this point, and I almost can't wait for new episodes to drop. Please take your time with the game, you're only just getting started but I wouldn't want it to end.

It was a big surprise to me that you started playing this, my favorite FF ever and favorite game to watch let's play of. I've been loving it and I can't wait for you to see more!

1:56:51 The game doesn't make it super obvious, but you can hold L1 when healing with items to spam them instead of the menu closing after using one. Makes regular Potions a lot more useful out of combat.

1:37:24: It's completely normal. Remember, in the slums it's possible for monsters to wander into town and endanger the citizens. The people up on the plate don't have to worry about that.
