LOL funny you mention your splitter capacitor blew. Ours blew last week - 3 explosion holes in the top rim and one side totally melted. Now have a new one in place and back to business. I pay Canadian $50/bush cord (4ftx4ftx8ft long) for hardwood slab cutoffs - maple, oak, beech, walnut, etc. Last summer I bought 16 bush cords for the price of 14. I'm still splitting.
  • A cord of wood here locally to me is around 165 to 180 dollars each. It is usually a mixed bag of woods, no chestnut though.

Hi Tracy & budo thank you for the price and info on the wood, I watch a few other channels and nobody gives any info on prices. would love to know prices of building materials. I have bought a longere in Brittany to renovate but still live in the UK for now. Keep up the good work, loving the content.

Great job!! Here in the usa wood like chestnut is used mostly for furniture. I don’t have a wood burner stove or fireplace but did as a kid and my dad would get pine wood to burn as that is the cheapest wood by me.

We burn madrone wood in Oregon. And use offcuts from my husband's woodworking for kindle. We do have a gas furnace but prefer to use wood heat. We use about 1-2 cords a winter depending on the weather. Love your channel.
  • @ValarieBresee
We don't have a stove like you have but wish we did over here in Canada . GDAY from Ottawa
  • A cord of seasoned hardwood in the USA costs anywhere from $275-$400 with delivery. I think I paid $180 for 1/2 cord with delivery in 2022 here in Texas. Everything costs so much here now it’s gotten ridiculous! Love your vlogs!!
