There are 3 things that you are going to have to learn quickly if you want to get into Aluminum TIG welding and all three have to do with restarts. TIG welding Aluminum is very different from TIG welding steel and stainless. When you're Aluminum TIG welding you hold a much tighter arc length, which makes the process much more prone to tungsten dips. This is why iif you plan on TIG welding Aluminum, you have to get good at Aluminum restarts.

The Everlast welders YouTube channel is the only channel in the industry that is run by the welding community, for the welding community. Every week we will release a new episode taught by the best welders in their respective fields.

Damn. You are one good teacher. I haven't finished stick welding but this already has given me a lot of foresight. I now know what to do when the time comes for me to do TIG welding. Thank you so much.

I'm more a stainless guy. So these tips for aluminum are very helpful. Thanks, awesome content and great "puddle" shots!

I did both those dip things today, mostly on fillet welds, on 2mm thick plate.

2:24 if you react quick enough you can sling the hot aluminum off the tip the tungsten. Sometimes you can get back to welding, but at the least it will be an easier cleanup.

My Everlast has given me a lot of problems. I had to send it back to have it repaired. Luckily it was still under warranty. Cost a small fortune to ship it though. At least they paid to ship it back to me.
