Lumi-Weld STICKS!!! I wish I had a dollar for every cycle case I've repaired with them! Stronger and BETTER than heli-arcing or MIG. Just a good propane torch (MAPP is optional) and Lumi-Welds and if you have a hole up to the size of your fist, you can build-it up in stages. I repaired a two-stroke's main bearing with Lumi-Weld.

This is good advice for all beginner welders. If you learn to weld with acetylene on different types of metal it will teach you how material reacts and help you become a good welder in the future. I’ve been welding for 30 years and I learned how to weld with a torch first. It gave me a good solid base to build on and today I can weld any material with the correct welder but it all started with a torch and some rod.
  • I endorce this guys message ❤ I always welded everything with oxygen and acetylene.....We even welded airplane headers and pressure tested them in water....Its a great way of welding just not fast...Cast iron , steel, aluminum etc.... All we had other than stick in the shop for many years.
  • Great job,I'm a torch welder myself,this is almost a forgotten trade!

Fantastic job. Welding Holes in Aluminum take patience and the right amount of heat. Looks great 👍

I grew up being taught to use an Oxy/cetylene rig to weld mild steel using the coat hangers from the dry cleaners as filler. Worked great, and finally had a use for all those damn coat hangers.
  • As a guy that weld, grind and drill daily,i give you utmost respect for ur skill❤

This is a very effective trick and method for welding aluminum, bro, without any support at the bottom of the weld, nothing will fall off at all...

Nice job, but I would've drilled a hole at the end of the crack.
  • That’s a very nice job. It would be twice the hole if I was doing it. Thanks for the post.
  • That was very impressive! What are your aluminium filler rods made of? They obviously melt at a lower temp than the housing. Are you using the steel welding rod as an abrader to break through the oxide film as well as smooth the weld? Last question, are you running a slight carburising flame? I really loved your video. Its nice to see age old craft practice. Great Job !!!
  • That's neither welding nor aluminum. It's a lower melting alloy brazed onto the aluminum case.

You make it look easy that is a masterpiece I'm very impressed thank you for making this
  • I would have done it like fixing a hole in drywall or auto body patch filling hole with aluminum stock and weld around the outside edge then grind but I guess there’s more than one way to skin a cat!
  • Hola que tal quería saber que combinación d gas usas para soldar gracias
  • Excelente trabajo te felicito, no tenía idea que con las varillas se podía soldar más fácil, saludos desde Argentina!!!
