I'm trying to get back into playing guitar. It's been years.  I used to play all the time but I have forgotten just about everything I used to play

My lick book is saving tabs onto my favourites on YouTube lol

Thanks for explaining the tie between learning the lick in multiple places and where it can lead you.

I never memorize guitar solos but it's a lot easier to read them and can do that when I pick it out on piano and read it off the screen. But I didn't do that on the song I'm working on now but that's only extra lead playing in the chorus - It's all chords.

Good stuff. Re not repeating. Dickey Betts plays a six minute from about the 6th minute of the famous live album version of Whipping Post. Absolutely amazing musical piece. Not so much a bunch of pasted together licks.

As soon as I start “thinking” I start stinking!😂

Would you consider a vid about how you got to Nashville as a studio musician? Where from, started lessons?, school, school bands, how you progressed? Also if you are a mechanic, noticed the vet in your garage with the hood up? Your vids are very well done, very professional. I am a non-musician but interested in the music bus. thanks a lot.
