My first Finch Farm build became so unstable taking video would be near impossible at this point, so I got to work on a second build featured in this tour in early 2022. This build was mostly done on my PS4, which then died. I picked up finishing touches on the build and decorating on my PS5. This build uses the "Fallout 4: Game of the Year" Edition with NO building mods. I do however have Creation Club skins and clothing installed.

You can read my blog and see a gallery with dozens of images of this settlement here: www.wonkosgeekery.com/blog/fallout-4-finch-farm-2

A majority of the music in this video was composed by my friend Pete Billingham. He is open for commissions so if you are interested, reach out to him at his web site here: portfolio.studio-draven.com/

Other music is from Dark Fantasy Studio: darkfantasystudio.com/

  • It never even occurred to me that you could build up on that bridge. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • it’s always the no mods builders who go crazy, this stuff is fire man really! i’m studying architecture in school right now and even i’m like man i wish i could make my own work look this lively in game and in school!
  • I was waiting to see how my dude would take a crack at Finch Farm, a lot of possibilities for that bridge. 0:29 right when you talk about instability there’s a flying settler, you can’t make it up 😂 2:10 I LOVE using the caravan post, especially because the guards and merchants actually interact with the environment instead of playing freeze tag 3:45 reflector platform on the robot workbench? Creative. 9:17 building around a bus is both aesthetically pleasing and very practical, and it all looks structurally sound. Alot of players use buses randomly but I appreciate the fact that the bus SHOULD be there because its on the road. 13:30 This clothing store is spectacular, especially the names. 15:05 The bed stand looks great there, maybe have a small stair step as a step stool? 21:23 Cafeteria is splendid, looks good with food there. I think a small bench or eating area with that view would be swell. Overall the entire build is great, especially the bridge; Its the best one i've seen yet. Balances between cozy and wastelandy feeling and not too overdone. The building angles are a nice touch too. As for the performance, How is it on Ps5? how does it fare with the junk items falling through the floor

That settler at the start! He falls onto the roof, then rises back up to the bridge like he's being abducted by aliens ha ha ha ha!

Absolutely stunning work! Every bit of it is inspirational. I've always had problems with filling out those overpasses, here and GG. This is awesome. And I feel ya with game instabilities, I'm regularly between 2-4 times over the build limit with structures. The only way I've found to keep things playable is to limit my decorating to about 10-15% of what you've got going here. Just enough to make it look alive :) (playing on Xbox One and PC) Much respect.
  • Todd Howard: It just works! (Vendor phases through floor.) Great build and presentation, the hard work shows. You almost make me want to dive back into this, it was one of the first games I got for my PS4, but I stepped back from it when a bug rendered my favorite companion permanently mute, and waiting for a patch that would never come.

I really hope base building is more stable and has a bigger build limit when the next gen update comes out next year
  • This settlement is beautifully lore friendly and feels like if you came across it in game it would be one of your favorite friendly locations. Well done.
  • This is really inspiring. I've played the game since release but never searched online to see people's settlements until today. This is a gem. Cheers!
  • Once again you've built a creative, gorgeous build that fits right in with the rest of the Commonwealth.

Dude, I really love the way you present your settlements. The music is so relaxing and your voice sounds very good too.
  • @hainzy
Oh man your way of getting up to the top area looks so much better than mine
  • Ooh I'm gonna try to build my settlement on that bridge. How'd I never try that before? Wow. Okay. Onto the video!
  • I love the amount of unintended 'paranormal activity' in this game. Don't know if the bug is triggered when the cell loads in as someone is interacting with animated settlement objects, or what. The one I see the most is probably the hand operated water pump, as I have at least one in each settlement even though the large water pump and motorized ground well are the pumps I use for providing the bulk of my settlement water need. Second most often is the weight bench. I've also had a Brotherhood Lancer spawn in at The Slog without a hitbox or an AI package, and just stand there as post-Blind Betrayal Danse (aka a chaos marine tier super soldier of death and destruction) empties microfusion cell after microfusion cell of laser rifle blasts into him, laser completely phasing through his body and scorching the surface of a nearby chainlink fence. Staring... Judgingly... Another weird physics bug I've had was with some skulls in Nuka World freaking out. I was on PS4 at the time (same with the phantom lancer and the first and only time I bothered to record a glitched water pump), so it wasn't the 60 fps bug.
