Brian Chesky came like he's Sam Altman's lawyer. Interesting dynamic. Maybe I'd have to know the YCombinator history to understand.

As a freelance software developer, I had a 5-7 times increase in productivity since GPT-4 came out. The same in other areas like for hobbies (I design a TTRPG, and I currently run 2 campaigns using that system). Free images on-demand, music, songs, lore, gameplay ideas, brainstorming for everything. AI is amazing, and it will only get better. People that say it will never replace humans have no idea, or are just in denial. AI will be better than us at everything (already is in many cases), and it will be thousands of times faster and cheaper. This time can't come fast enough.

What is needed is clear categorization. AI only, AI-Human symbiosis, and Human only. An Index, velocity and directions and benchmarks, and historical preservations. The existential threats come from non visible AI only, first movers and sims. Shovels are above and underground. Driving is the art of stopping.

The only question Lester should have asked and didn’t… Sam… why are you ok with Open going from an Open non profit model to a closed for profit model. Lost any respect I had for Lester after this. Dropped the ball dude.
  • @GNARGNARHEAD
I've gotta agree with him on GPT being a multiplier on productivity, so helpful.. feels like I move in leaps and bounds these days
  • @christinecamley
I agree if you are referring to Altman. I think he lacks integrity.
  • @Flampo
The way he answers questions is bad - not transparent. He knows its a scary result when AI develops past certain stages, and he doesn't want to be truthful and direct about it.
  • Really glad Sam feels a responsibility to develop AI for good and be transparent about their process. It’s really up to governments to put regulations in place, or we’ll get another situation like big oil and climate change. Sam can’t do this on his own! And it’s awesome that Brian is standing in with him and being a sounding board for what “good” means and what steps to take along the way.
  • Sam Altman is very brilliant and intelligent. Thank you for sharing your interview with us around the world 🌎 🙏
  • @Fj8282haha
The Airbnb Brian dude talks he is the man know what he talking about on AI by keep saying over and over bring the community, PR bs and generate revenue for his company
  • @chrisg8995
Aspen, this year’s presentations have been garbage. Even when there are interesting people being interviewed, it’s either shot interviewers, or the guests are giving bs answers to everything. What happened this year???
  • Now, "The Spanish government has even said it is looking into a countrywide ban on tourist apartment rentals in residential buildings." Eat that Chesky. Does anyone know why?
  • Oh mmmmm Geeee he is literally me xD, Hope people pay more attention to what you are advocating Ms. Johansson
  • @sebastianschaer
man.. they are really just evading concrete answers around safety concerns... "yeah we will really need this".. "security is super important to us".. Its sad that OpenAI feels like the next tech bro company spitting out "the latest and greatest version of AI ever"

why are we making something far more intelligent than all humans combined , this can't be called risk taking , this is like saying I am gonna jump from an airplane without paraschute , i know it's risky , bro goddamn it , this is not risky, this is lethal Ok so what do we think that ai somehow will always act as our assistant , it's a computer , it waits till it gets instructions , and what do you think , ai isn't capable to build instructions for itself based on rights and wrongs it has been feeded. one day maybe for efficiency , a system error causes it to believe that humans are highly inefficient and to remove inefficiency , we must remove humans first , and it's all going in the background without our knowledge , it is waiting for the right time , the instruction is passed , it's only waiting for appropriate resources in place to do so . what if ???
