  • This isn't modelling, it is producing a work of art! Blown away.
  • "Pilots Man Your Planes" This is an unbelievable modeling achievement! I've sold a lot of aircraft carrier kits over the years but I doubt any were built as well as this kit. Thanks, Studio Blue Ocean in setting the bar.
  • This is a museum-quality build! Amazing detail! Side note: my grandfather served on board the Yorktown at the Battle of Midway as a Navy chief.
  • Thank you for sharing! I am a ship model builder and a former US Navy Surface Warfare Officer. Your model of the USS Yorktown is outstanding and you've captured the look and feel of a ship that has been underway for quite sometime. Bravo Zulu!
  • @one0nine
My grandfather helped to lay the deck of the original Yorktown when he was in the Apprentice Program at Newport News Shipbuilding. She's always been a special ship to our family. You have done her proud, sir.
  • The reveal of all the little planes after you showed how intricate it was to build just three of them was amazing. Felt like I got to see a mother duck showing me all her little babies while being so proud of them.

That attention to detail was 2nd to none, tht hanger space lighting was a nice touch, a shame the deck couldn't be removed to see all the interior work, well done.
  • Like a wartime photo brought to life. More of a sculpture than a plastic model. Worthy of any museum representation. Absolutely stunning level of detail. Probably silly but what really caught my eye were the lights on the lower decks reflecting on the water.

I don’t think I’d ever have enough patience to do this. This looks incredible!
  • When I was a kid, my older brother built model kits from Revell and Monogram. He was quite accurate to the point of the correct color of paint to burning in bullet holes in a planes hull. But what you have done takes it to another level, and I know that if Billy were alive today, he would commend you on you great work.
  • The attention in detail is amazing, been aboard the Yorktown in Charleston SC , im a navy vet myself USS SIERRA AD-18 and the USS DEWEY DDG 45, you are saving history my friend.
  • @LEWTSPEC
Absolute legend. I didn't look away the entire video, I even caught myself leaning in more and more as the video played out. that lighting against the water ripples is pure modeling secks
  • I've never been this amazed looking at modeling as I am watching your dioramas. Thye level of detail is just breathtaking. Any of these could easily go to a museum.

Ditto!!!!! That is INCREDIBLE!!!!! I've been building model kits since around age five I think when my late Dad got me into it. With all I've done, NOTHING even comes close to this. That belongs in the National Museum of Naval Aviation onboard NAS Pensacola. I'm certain they would VERY MUCH like to display it. I've been there once and there are some other GORGEOUS works of model making. Like this one. Some might've even been hand built. Well worth a visit if you're close by. Or worth the drive.
  • I'm just overwhelmed! How incredibly awesome is this model? There are no superlatives - just perfect down to the smallest detail!
  • This work is truly amazing! I didn't expect that you would have built a Yorktown aircraft carrier with all the details down to every bit of it. Surely this is one of your most impressive works.
  • Sometimes something is so good, reaching perfection that superlatives just dont do justice. It is just an honour to be able to see this. And just remarkable what youtube has done in making everybody all over the world to watch this again and again and again....
