After watching the hard work that goes into creating and maintaining machines and projects like this, I understand why my old man always said that the stock market is the closest man has gotten yet to alchemy. Creating stupendous amounts of money out of thin air. Humanity always wanted it easy

The shade to DB at 14:00 was hilarious.

35:20 To expand on this: in Switzerland, when there’s an “accident involving a person” and a train, it’s almost always a euphemism for self-unaliving by jumping in front of a train. Approximately 180 people per year attempt to end their lives that way in Switzerland, of whom about 2/3 succeed. The Swiss railways have staff psychologists to help train drivers deal with it, because statistically speaking, almost every single one of them will experience it at least once during their career. :’(

My Swiss friend told me in no uncertain terms that the myth of German efficiency is just a myth. Experienced it too when I trained from Basel to Frankfurt. The difference is stark! I'm coming from car country LA, so it's all great to me. I loved riding the SBB. I even got the app so I can easily plan and pay for rides whenever I visit that beautiful country.

9:56 The collision could have been wurst.

The Japanese Shinkansen company issued an apology letter for leaving the station 20 seconds early. Europe has nothing on them! :face-green-smiling::face-green-smiling::face-green-smiling:

Really excellent documentary they should do one on the big freight yard in Zurich which is SBB Rangierbahnhof Zürich Limmattal scrap yard in Switzerland followed by Rbf Basel Muttenz. In neighbouring Austria the largest yard is Verschiebebahnhof Wien Kledering

In my opinion Vienna Hbf too is fantastic with so many connections
-
Very informative great video

I have been to this station countless times when I was living in Switzerland 🇮🇳

Amazing documentary

Sehr schonnes DOKU!!!!!
-
Wow!
-
While this station had timetable problems, SBB is outstanding for its connectivity. Changing trains at hubs is usually a cross-platform walk. This efficiency is more useful than high speed.
-
Wow. Here, we have 1 passenger train that goes through once a week.

As a Canadian with a crappy national railway system I so envy the countries who do railways right!

The Swiss complain if the train is three minutes late??? Are you serious? Here in the U.S. we're happy if the train arrives a half hour late and gets us to our destination in one piece. Come to the U.S. and see how bad train service can be and you won't complain any more!
