Traveling on a bike as opposed to a car is like the difference between watching a movie and actually being in the movie.

Damn, Tristan. This video hit on a personal level on three fronts. First, during World War II, all of the able-bodied men went off to war, leaving the Forest Service short-handed when it came to lookouts and firefighters. While still in high school in Chicago, my dad went to Montana and spent a summer on top of Sex Peak (yes, it really is named that) south of Trout Creek, MT as a replacement lookout/firefighter. The lookout was more a log cabin type structure, and he said it was a two-day horseback ride to get up there, so he was pretty much on his own. In 1993, I drove from our home in Chicago to Alaska, and I was able to drive to the top of Sex Peak in about an hour on a Forest Service road. The cabin had been replaced by another structure that could be rented out just like the one you stopped at. The second part of your video that hit home was the visit to Libby. My mom worked as a secretary for Zonolite, the company that produced the vermiculite and processed it in Chicago. On one of their vacations before I was born, they actually took a trip to Libby to see the mine. Decades later, doctors found asbestos in my mom's lungs and she died of mesothelioma. Lastly, just by coincidence, my mom worked as an administrative assistant at Evergreen Park High School in the 1970s, which was the same high school that Ted Kaczynski attended in the 1950s. Cue the "Twilight Zone" theme...
  • Yes, Tristen, this is an ADVENTURE 👌😀. I'm loving it. THANK YOU! Safe travels 🏍💚

Slowly getting to the point where I’ll be healthy enough for some of those hikes is always enjoyable.

Hey Tristan, I've been watching you for a number of years and I just enjoy you and your adventures more and more every time. You are a wonderful human!
  • @elsewhere9167
Love the scooter content... I've ridden for 40 plus years... just pretend you're invisible and you'll be okay... if you think they're going to pull out in front of you they will... be careful! God Bless you and grant you His traveling mercies...

My favourite part is seeing you enjoying yourself so much!

Absolutely beautiful area. All of it was my favorite part ❤️
  • @elena8642
That river/rock was crazy! One of my favorite pieces of footage of yours!❤😊 safe travels
  • @isttra
Love that this time and terrain is making you “grin ear-to-ear!” It has been a really fun change of pace and makes me want to visit the northwest even more! Such a sad tale from the mining town! Totally agree that it is truly evil that they knew of the dangers and sent workers in without regard for their safety and health. I hope that there was some justice served. Excited for Canada in next week’s video!

Good on you for changing it up with the scooter. Not easy. Thanks for the continued creative display of our world.

Spectacular footage of the waterfall with wonderful music. The whole video is so enjoyable to watch and to hear your explanations of it all!! Extremely well done!
  • @toddshook1765
The falls are amazing. Very mesmerizing. The thing about riding a motorcycle is your view is an open 3D canvas as you travel. The view is not blocked by roof and corner pillar post of a car.
  • @karen11
I really resonated and was surprised that you enjoyed talking to that couple. One of my favorite parts of solo travel is these kinds of spontaneous short but interesting conversations with strangers! I much prefer this waterfall with the rocks than the traditional waterfalls.

It might be where the Montana Hutterite community is, and if so, they manufacture children's furniture so it makes sense to ship it out using that bridge. And thank you Tristan for your consistent publishing of content on Saturdays, I am thankful to always rely on an adventure every week, yes you publish mid-week too, but its your saturday content I always watch.
  • @Lois5650
Good morning! Enjoying this adventure 100%! The beauty makes my heart sing 🎶
  • @willar1338
My favorite parts were the drone footage over the waterfall, your strenuous hike to the lookout tower, and you thinking we would be afraid on that bridge after some of the steep cliffs, narrow ridges, and amazing mountain tops you have taken us to. 😅
  • @TrevorHikesAZ
I’d like to see a video on the Cabinet Mountains. But, I like watching all your videos. Beautiful scenery!
