Just how many dealerships does GM run? Most dealerships are locally owned, not owned by GM. Also, where do you go for warranty work? How are recalls handled? Where do you go to trade in a vehicle, and where do you go to buy a used car? The Dealerships will still have to exist, even if GM has to buy them out.

This is what you get when you put a DEI hire in charge . Auto industry went to crap when the jobs went over seas .

No hands on dealerships means no personal service and no dealership maintenance and repairs. The manufacturer will be in total control of pricing and service and if you think they are doing this for any reason other than market control and higher profits, then you have been duped. Not to mention the many thousands of Americans this will put out of work.

What about the consumer... yes, dealers make 12 to 27 percent... will they reduce the consumer price !

The dealer experience has been crap for decades. Will vehicle cost become lower, I doubt that. Buy online and the company makes the greatest profit. Dealer visits aren't stressful, just annoying. This entire story is crap !
