While this was happening, a different driver struck a fire hydrant in a nearby neighborhood causing a major leak. Our maintenance crew could not reach the break, because the highway was closed, before the storage tank was drained. They did reach it before water service was fully lost.

I watched 1 officer with NO BACK UP pit manuever a truck and yank the man out his window at gunpoint. Hand cuffed him on the hood of his patrol car all in one clean motion. These cops are a joke.

The fact that officers inconvenienced THOUSANDS of people to placate one criminal is ANNOYING. There are dozens of armed officers VS one armed driver… Y’all can’t work quicker than this?!

Why is the PD not moving in? Either give an update on the negotiations or act. Traffic has been backed up for too long…Dozens of cops just standing around twiddling their thumbs.

It COULD have ended much sooner. But California made sure the police force has the least amount of authority. Even if the suspect is on parol. clearly guilty of a crime caught on camera with multiple eye witnesses, 9 priors, and in possession of the firearms, the police will be found guilty for stopping him. Besides, as he is arrested he will be released without bail.
