How to secure Vodafone Hub

Vodafone Hub sold in Australia (and probably somewhere else) is a custom device made in Vietnam and probably a design from HTC or Huawei. It has a custom firmware that is updated automatically for your peace of mind, has external access disabled to the router and has strong passwords to the router and accessing wifi but there are still couple of things you can tweak and make it not only better but also more convenient.

i have a question, if i have this modem, does it mean i can get free internet as it has a build in Sim card to give you free internet access.
