Thank you for not shrieking, yelling, hollering or erupting into a geyser of high-decibel cursing.

Still amazes me to this day the fast transition from stovepipe to wedge. Like no other tornado footage I've ever seen
-
In case anyone is interested - the camera vantage point is 35°17'22.7"N 97°36'19.4"W when the tornado fully develops. The initial ground footprint is in a field due west of this spot at about 35°17'20.1"N 97°36'56.4"W - the distance is slightly over 1 km (0.6 mile). The tornado tracks off to the NE, ingesting soil as it crosses the Canadian River gulch and developing a brownish color.

I was actually one of the many that lost their homes to this monster... I remember evacuating the house minutes before it struck. Watched it tear through my neighborhood as we drove parallel to it... It was the most terrifying day of my life... I was actually almost hit this evening with another tornado as it went through Yukon and Bethany. It wasn't nearly the size of this one though, but any tornado just a couple of streets down is close enough. Yes, tornados do have this "roar", almost like its a living thing as it just devours anything in it's wake. When something like this happens, it sticks with you. I am literally terrified of any severe storms during this time of the year...

I'm very thankful to be alive right now. I was in Moore at the time and I got thrown around. Ending up with a broken Ankle broken arm almost a concussion almost a broken spine and still have scars to this day. I'm very thankful to be alive. I had a little bit of memory loss but my mom told me everything.

I have watched this video more than a few times, and it still amazes me each time. How quickly it goes from being a photogenic, "picture perfect" tornado specimen, to a huge monster swallowing all in its wake. God bless all who lived through it, and RIP to all who didnt make it.

man that thing grew fast

It's amazing how it only takes cold and hot air to create such a devastating dark force of nature. I've been fascinated by tornadoes since as long as I can remember. The movie Twister is my favorite tornado film and it's the best tornado movie ever made and will always be a classic.

4:31 "Oh, are you filming this? Let me just park right in the middle of your shot..."

Amazing footage! All of these people giving tips for shooting a good tornado video have obviously never tried to film one. So much going on--you have to worry about your safety, decide what you want to film (close-up or zoomed out), devise an escape plan, and also try to stand still while witnessing one of nature's most brutal forces. There's also the pressure of knowing you only get one shot to make a great video. Anyone who thinks they could do better is off his rocker. This was great shooting and the 10.123703M hits and 20.866k thumbs-up is a pretty good indicator that the vast majority of people agree.

I think this was the best footage of this particular tornado 🌪
-
As a person who experienced this tornado first hand in 6th grade I have to say this is the best footage of it on YouTube to date
-
A thousand kudos to whoever was filming this video. Risking your life to show the world your amazing amazing footage. Thank you. One of the best tornado videos I have ever seen
-
Wow the bravery it took filming this! Just beautiful.
-
This tornado was deadly but she was beautiful when she first formed! Perfect symmetry!

I said it on the synced video this was included in, but it's unreal how quickly it widens and intensifies. 4:15 is the best part, in terms of how clearly the violent rotation can be seen and how clearly the signature roar can be heard. That sucker was REALLY spinning. I can't imagine being within a mile of how close this was recorded to it... let alone being silent the whole time!
-
SO impressed how you navigated this storm in SILENCE. I'm sure you were scared out of your minds yet I didn't hear a peep. Thank you for your research angled your willingness to put your lives on the line for science!!
-
Tried to turn up the volume to hear the radio. Big mistake...
-
If it looks like it is just standing there most likely its heading towards you
-
It got so big so fast. Damn.
