No animals were provoked into action nor are any situations instigated or set up for TV. Johann Lombard's professional safari guiding ability was always present ensuring the safety of both the animals and the people with him. Despite all precautions taken, sometimes the animals do act out without any provocation - which results in some of the amazing footage captured.
