After nearly 20 years in office, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will hand over the reins of power to his deputy, Lawrence Wong, on May 15, 2024. Lee leaves office with the city state maintaining a reputation as a neutral and independent regional power, as well as a major diplomatic hub. His 51-year-old successor has risen steadily within the ranks of government since his introduction to politics in 2011. Wong is expected to keep Singapore on its current domestic and international policy path.

  • See? Singaporean may be multi-cultured, multi-ethinic nation, doesn't make them "Chinese" by national.

Since kicked out of Malaysia Federation and became independent. It's all been about survival. SG understands that to survive, the region needs to thrives and stability is impt. It not in SG interest to hope for others to fail and capitalise on their loses for self gain. But surely there will be folks who are highly critical and prejudiced on sg stands and hope for the city state to fail.

Singapore is not a Chinese country and certainly not a province of China or 坡縣。We are a multi-racial nation.

Singapore is a role model for authoritarian states in the east, proving to the world that non-Anglo-Saxon philosophies and politics can succeed.
