  • Man, this scene with Faye coming to terms with her shattered past, Jet and Spike silently eating hard boiled eggs, and finally Ed and Ein together deciding to part ways with the Bebop crew, gets me every time.

This moment in Bebop hit me like a truck. More than the ending or anything else. Cowboy Bebop was one of the first anime I ever watched, more than 10 years ago. Still hits the feels, still can't listen to this song without nostalgia and sadness.

The most memorable egg eating scene in all of anime

The scene where this song plays really hits you like a train. What was being a sort of upbeat episode with Edward's wacky dad, there was a slow emotional build up with her backstory as well as Faye discovering her childhood. And when you think things are about to reach their satisfying conclusion where the crew of the BeBop will unwind while eating eggs and prepare for their next wacky adventure, the empty lot of Faye's home as well as this song play and hit you with a feeling of emptiness that just grows more and more as you slowly watch Edward leave, then Ein, and you watch Faye just lay there in the empty lot of where her home used to be - leaving Spike and Jet alone. It honestly felt like that was the end for everyone at that moment.

''Hey Dinner's ready! Huh?'' ''Spike, food.'' Realizes. Cries.

Back in 2011 I had moved to a small farming town in S. Korea as an ESL teacher. I was in a bad place - in the middle of a divorce, cut contact with my toxic family, didn't fit in with the other foreigners who were more interested in partying than hanging out with a sad sack like me. So I bought a good bicycle and would spend my evenings peddling along the Yeoju riverside, sometimes going into the peaceful Gyeonggedo farm lands and parking on a bridge to watch the sunset. I would blast this song, watching the sunsets and the old folks bringing their fishing lines in to clean their catch to dry overnight. It was a sad, sad time but also liminal in a lot of ways. I can still smell the terra cotta and salt from the post-monsoon floods.

Only the real Cowboys and Cowgirls are listening this in 2023.

lyrics here! I close my eyes and I keep seeing things Rainbow waterfalls Sunny liquid dream Confusion creeps inside me raining doubt Got to get to you, but I don't know how Call me, call me Let me know it's alright Call me, call me Don't you think it's 'bout time Please won't you call and ease my mind Reasons for me to find you Peace of mind What can I do to get me to you? I had your number quite some time ago Back when we were young, but I had to grow Ten thousand years I've searched it seems and now Gotta get to you, won't you tell me how? Call me, call me Let me know you are there Call me, call me I wanna know you still care Come on now won't you ease my mind Reasons for me to find you Peace of mind What can I do to get me to you? Come on now won't you ease my mind Reasons for me to find you (for me to find you) Peace of mind (peace) Reasons for living my life (living my) Ease my mind (won't you ease it, ease it, ease it my mind?) Reasons for me to know you (for me to know you) Ease my mind What can I do to get me to you?

Lost my younger brother this past summer this was one of the 1st anime he introduced me to. Watching it again and now this scene really hit me 😢. R.I.P. Mark thanks for the memories and we will meet again 😂.
  • Conte nailed this vocal performance. Aching, just the right amount of grit in some of the passages, credibility to match the beautiful arrangement. Even without Cowboy Bebop, this could've been a mainstream chart topper.

It's the 4th anniversary of my Mom's passing today & this song just popped into my head. I haven't listened to it in probably 15-20 years & it just hits different now.

I was lucky enough to watch Cowboy Bebop when it originally aired, way back when I was just a teenager. There are many songs from the OST that stuck with me, but this one left the biggest impact. The images of Ed wandering off into the wasteland and Faye tossing the stick away will be forever burned into my memory. It doesn't feel that long ago...
  • yall got no idea how badly i started sobbing when this started playing and ed started walkin out 😢. fuck first its all fun and games and then…..bang.

Cowboy Bebop has such a great list of soundtracks, I didn't even notice how great this song was when I first heard it on my first watching. Hearing it again after five years... where are all these feels coming from?
  • That bass line though! My fretless is on fire trying to keep up...
  • I still remember the night I finished 'Cowboy Bebop' for the 1st time. The minute it was over (and I literally mean the MINUTE), I rushed over to my friend's house, the one who recommended it to me. It was midnight and raining but nonetheless, I arrived at his house just so we could talk for 2 hours about how amazing the show was. No show before or since then has made me do that ❤
