FLIGHT (CALARTS 2024)

i love the use of having a lower frame rate in this, it makes it all feel super cozy and comfy, also major props to the sound team, super mega awesome sauce to everyone

I really love this. For me it almost seems like the character was stuck inside in some kind of post-apocalypse, but it becomes clear as time progresses and the character begins to consider freeing themself that there is no apocalypse or hostile world, it was all just because they were only ever inside looking out. Beautiful.

This is exactly how I feel in life, stuck. Like I can see what’s happening around me and I can interact with it but there is something holding me back from feeling free and happy. Sometimes I’m able to get out of my head and it’s only when I’m out that I realize that I was able to the whole time, that there’s nothing real holding me. Like your character that always had the key. I really felt the environnement, thank you for this animation !!!

The atmosphere of this short is palpable. I just want to keep spending time in this world and with the creatures in it.

i love the textures and line quality you use in the backgrounds, and your little creatures are so cute! i especially like the little birdies at 2:30 theyre so lovely!!!!

This is a simple yet beautiful animation, I am 13 and I hope one day I can compete a meaningful animation like this… Thanks for inspiring me !

Woahhh, this brings out the atmosphere of hot summer days and rain showers so accurate, and I lovvvvee the sound effects such as the pecking of the birds and the flapping wings when the dog barks at them <3

Lovely, this is such a peaceful film. I really love the lighting! I feel like every scene has such a clear atmosphere which really lends itself to the characters own mood. Pathetic fallacy and all that good stuff. Just a really pretty film, with a nice message that can interpreted differently but all having a hopeful feeling. The sound is really well done too so props to them!

This is lovely!!!!!!!! I lovelovelove how you use colors. They portray the mood so welllll!!! Everything in this film feels so So warm I love it so much. You accomplish so much with such a simple style it’s beautiful! In under 4 minutes you managed to make me Care so much for the main character. Seeing them gradually build up the courage to take flight into the world from seeing a baby bird struggle, but ultimately accomplish flying is so so so stunning. The textures you use and your use of light and shadow are so so appealing to the eye. This is gorgeous❤❤❤
