  • Recently a person asked RM what was the key to their success, why among so many bands they have achieved so much... and he only replied: I don't know either, what I know is that we are a group of people who genuinely love each other and love what we do.
  • They respect Namjoon no egos involved. They love and support each other with an open and sincere heart
  • @lorenlane1319
I think the idea of a leader is a bit different in kpop than in western bands, especially because it’s an established thing. Traditionally it was typically the oldest members of groups considering how korean age hierarchy works (a level of respect is given to people even only a year older) but now the age order of a leader isn’t as big of a deal. The leaders in these groups aren’t necessarily the most popular like a frontman of a western group would be, they just carry a lot of responsibility between the company and the team, etc. So they’re very well respected in the groups for their extra responsibilities.

Just the other night, the Emmy Awards were on TV. It just so happened Jin did a VLIVE at the same time. The Emmy Awards had 5.9 million people watching. Jin's VLIVE had over 7 million people watching him playing video games and talk to the fans. He beat the Emmy Awards and Football in the ratings.

Hearing Namjoon talk about how only 5% of their success is insane. Like he's literally the leader of the biggest group in the world. He is what the group was built around, the main songwriter, insanely talented and a genius and everything. Like he could be out here taking credit for everything and being super stuck up and you couldn't argue with him. But instead he focuses on being humble, being the best possible leader for his group members and ARMYs, the best possible human being and a good man. What a role model 😍
  • They aren't on hiatus... they are just focusing on solo albums more for now... And one more thing " BTS is always working even if they are on a break " - SUGA... I mean at this point they really need some break because they never take that
  • @MandiKS1020
7:20 “Long Term”. Lol they have already been together for more almost 10 years (more when you count predebut) and Joonie has been the leader the whole time. I think he respects them and they respect him. He only acts as leader when he needs to because it’s his area and let’s the other take the lead when it is their areas. If I recall, when asked to describe the other members, Suga said Namjoon is like the roof of a house: he protects and shelters the other members. He helps provide a safe space for them, espcsially when abroad
  • @ZariDV
I think their personalities are what really makes them uniquely loved. Sure they're incredibly talented, hardworking people but that can be said of many idols. It's the amazing music they give us PLUS their wonderful personalities that almost makes the music more powerful. They show us so much of themselves that when they spread positivity and love in their music, it feels genuine. It doesn't seem like a gimmick or a concept. You can feel their sincerity because you believe that these guys mean the words they sing and stand by their message. So when they offer comfort in their song, it truly does comfort Armys because we know it comes from their hearts and they wrote it themselves.
  • @awang4036
When Jonas Brothers got to know of them and attended one of their earlier concerts, it struck them that it's actually possible to do both solo and group projects. They have since done pretty much the same as well :)
  • @soop5414
BTS is proof that supporting each other means success for everyone. That's the map they've drawn for us, and the reason ARMY is so loyal. World peace exists, at least among us.
  • Namjoonie is their leader even before they debuted. So that's more then 10 years. They will always follow him as their leader because he did and still does an amazing job. They love and respect him so much and he will go through fire to protect them.
  • @myjulyz
all seven of them recently got little sevens as friendship tattoos, their bond is so genuine and strong and it makes me happy to know as a fan
  • @kabazinga
7:18 being a leader in bts is not being the frontman, rm's role is taking the lead in interviews when necessary and making speeches but more importantly being the link between the company and the members, supporting the members and so much more, members have always been very appreciative of him, they have said that being a leader means more responsibilities but no benefits and that they wouldn't know what to do without rm, how they would not have made it without him, they have been a group for officially 10 years next year, it hasn't been an issue and it won't be one, rm's also one of the main people behind the sound of bts having participated in writing almost every bts song, and that's more of a history fact but the group was in fact built around him, all the members are still equally important though, rm was just the start of the group
  • They met around 2011 but trained those 2 years and then debuted in 2013. Since they debuted in a small company, they received a lot of criticism, belittlement and even sabotage in their own country.. Because the kpop industry is super competitive, but they didn't give up. It's like you say: many people don't know them yet but I consider that it's mostly because they are Asian and we know that the American market is not very open to other cultures, however BTS has achieved massive things and they have broken many barriers making people interested, also their music and messages are really good. I personally met them in 2016 and decided to become a fan in 2017 because they build so much for the good that I think they deserve a lot of support. Thank you for reacting, I hope you could also react to "This is BTS ARMY", so you know a little more about their story.
  • I think is is important to note besides RM being the leader and them being a rapper, singer, or, dancer they created their roles on their own. Each member created a role I guess you could say to help build one another and/keep each together in a scenes…For example: Jhope chose for himself to become the dancer leader who helps the other members. Not because the company told him but because he wanted everyone doing their best…Hopefully this made sense. Also BTS have said many times that when they first where together they fought all the time and many of the members didn’t get alone because their personalities are so different from one another. However Bang PD (the guy that put them together, former CEO of Bighit) taught the boys how to fight and make up. He made sure that if they had an argument even if was between two members all seven members would be involved in solving the issue. From this the members learned how to argue, fight, make up, understand one another, etc…I think this is a huge reason why they are sooo close as they are despite being so different. Now the members say that they hardly fight and get along very well…. Recently I saw a post of someone who worked with the member when they made their new BTS Island game (for phones) and at first he was worried that they wouldn’t be able to make any decisions, come to an agreement for the game, etc. because their were seven different people. However he released he was wrong. The members where able to discuss and come up with solutions to create the game quickly or in a timely manner (ps the help create the game from start to finish). I very much have inspired me but not just their music but their relationship with one another. They inspire me to and are helping learn me how to create better relationships with family and friends by their examples… Anyways I am taking too much. Thank you for reacting!!! 💜
  • @rema51095
Joon is amazing talented human being ...bighit's ceo saw RM and decided to form a band around him
  • @sugasmeow
BTS’ current “break” means that us armies are being pulled in 7 directions while they focus on solo work. I never know what’s going on at any given moment.
  • BTS is really the only music group ive ever been able to get into, and its because i really appreciate their message and love their personalities - theyre more to their music in ways others artists arent or dont let their fans see
  • So RM who was the first member joined Bighit in 2010 and Jimin who was the last member joined in 2012. But during this time there was I believe around 30 trainees that Bigihit had to pick the members of BTS from and then BTS officially debuted in June 2013. I've always heard V was kept hidden because Bighit didn't want other companies to steal him away, even V has said he doesn't why they did it. As to why you haven't head of them until recently. I think it's various reasons. BTS didn't even get popular in South Korea until 2015/2016 and it was around 2017 when they started promoting and blowing up in the US. I think it all began when BTS won top social artist at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017. They won against Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande. All of a sudden people were like who are these guys that won against such huge artists. But they've practically been on every American talk show and award show. Also because of their songs mostly being in Korean they don't have the strongest radio presence. But I will be honest I think a lot of it has to do with BTS achievements not getting acknowledged because they aren't American and because they are Asian, most American media reduces BTS to just another "manufactured boy band who little girls like" when that narrative is completely false when it comes to BTS. Honestly if BTS lived in the US they would probably be talked about a lot more, but since they live in South Korea the media treats them like out of sight out of mind. I also notice a lot of people who know of BTS but don't realize popular songs like Dynamite and Butter were BTS songs. And I hope this doesn't sound bad but at this point if someone has not heard of BTS they literally have been living under a rock. Even my 88 year old grandma has heard of them. And yes BTS are taking a bit of a break right now to explore their own artistry and just spending time doing what they want to do. BTS has literally worked non-stop for the past 10 years only taking 2 extended breaks during that whole period. Their first break came at the end of 2019 over 6 years after they debuted (up until that point they never got more than a couple days off here and there). Yes they want to continue as BTS for a long time and it's actually very normal in kpop for members to do solo work and still continue as a group. But BTS do have a concert in October in Busan (Jimin and Jungkook's hometown) South Korea in a bid for Busan to hold the World Expo in 2030. J-Hope has already released his solo album called Jack In the Box that came out in July and he headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago. And all members plan on releasing solo albums at some point. Also I don't know if you are aware but in South Korea military service is mandatory for all men for a minimum of 18 months unless exempted for medical reasons considering South Korea is still technically at war with North Korea. BTS was granted a delay (from age 28 to 30, and Jin the oldest member turns 30 in December) because they received the The Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit medal which is a huge achievement. And now the government is trying to decide if BTS should be exempted or not or do an alternative service. BTS has always said they will serve when called so they aren't personally trying to get out of serving, but the country is very divided if they should be required to serve or not. Kpop artists are not exempted from military service and so a lot of people say it's unfair if BTS get exempted but every other male kpop artist has had to serve. But it's very sensitive topic that BTS don't really like to discuss, but their impending military service might also be playing a role in their decision to do solo albums at this time. But actually they've had this planned since 2020. They were going to do solo albums after their world tour that was supposed to happen in 2020 but due the pandemic the entire tour was cancelled and BTS didn't want to abandon ARMY during such a difficult time even though they were exhausted. So they decided to release fully English songs like Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance to lift people's spirits and they also made an album called BE that came out in November 2020 where they really shared their thoughts and feelings about the pandemic. BTS worked so hard during the whole pandemic making an album, recording performances for overseas promotions, doing multiple online concerts etc. Thanks for reacting and I hope to see more BTS reactions in the future. And if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

They always praise and appreciate rm for his leadership They are very caring and protective of each other with no egos or jealousy involved Certainly their culture plays a big part in this
