  • "Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." - Carl Jung
  • I'll steal these interviewers questions when talking to someone: 1. What a beautiful home, how long have you lived here? 2. Do you have any kids? 3. DO YOU REMEMBER THE OCCASION WHEN YOU FIRST FELT CONSCIOUSNESS OF YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL SELF?!
  • I love the fact that he refused to talk about Freud's dreams. An old fashioned and discreet man. Wonderful.
  • I cannot overstate how incredible it is to have this recording of Dr. Jung available, and for free, on the internet at the fingertips of anyone who desires to watch. Thank you, my good sir, for uploading this gem.
  • It took me a second to realize the 70s to him means the 1870s. The internet is so amazing man, im glad I get to experience shit like this
  • Absolutely marvelous interview. And look at Jung at 84, clarity of mind, expansive of heart. A role model for us all.

I come here all the time and have for years. This man changed my life, and I will be forever grateful. Currently earning my PhD in Jungian analysis
  • We have a video of a man saying "I finished my studies in 1900." crazy

Let’s not forget that this is a man who’s mother tongue is not English, yet is speaking of things that most who speak English couldn’t conceive of putting into words.
  • He's very forthright in his answers. He doesn't seem worried about his image. He's unashamed and spontaneous. I didn't realize he was born in the late 19th century. This interview took place 10 years before I was born. What a treasure this recording is.
  • His intelligence and knowledge is daunting, but there's something about his being that's so humble, human and familiar. He's like Gandalf and your grandpa in one person. Always a twinkle in the eye. Very interesting and enchanting. This is the part of YouTube I love.
  • That really shows the type of man Jung was when he refused to speak of Freud's dreams because "it's a professional secret" and "these regards last longer than life."
  • Jung is one of the best interviewees - he understood the questions immediately and answered them precisely.
  • His final answer, derived from his personal research with his own patients, still holds up to this day. Man’s desire for individuality never went away and indeed became stronger and stronger.
  • "How can I be substantial if I don't cast a shadow. I must have a dark side also if I am to be whole." – Dr. Jung

The fact that his first posting after receiving his M.D.was at a mental hospital, who took the time to actually engage with his patients & study their art & writing shows a truly compassionate & humble man.
  • EXCELLENT. Jung is probably the coolest, most awesome and most clever chap from Switzerland I've ever heard of.
  • "These regards last longer than life. I prefer not to talk about it." What a class act.
