I love how this anime is extremely accurate with its animation when the musicians are playing. The sound of the drumming and Sentarou's motions were spot on.

This is, and will always be, a flagship for music anime for years to come

After 8 years! After 8 years of no contact and they're just so in-sync with each other! Their friendship really is forever. Oh my god, what is this? Again? I-I can't... Tears, stop right now! I can't do this...

True friendship being showcase, one that goes beyond time or words, and just flows through the rhythm of jazz.

If you get Shinichiro Watanabe directing and Yoko Kanno composing you cannot go wrong!

Your Lie in April can eat it's heart out. This is the way to end a music-centric anime.
  • I just hated that they were separated 8yrs that's just too much. Not having contact with each other or anything like damn... I would of died of depression or since shit

Someone give me a tissue, I'm crying so much now. Aah... tears of happines, I'm so moved TTvTT  What a beautiful friendship! Even after 8 years they are playing like it was yesterday. A friend like that is my one true wish.

    最終回で数年ぶりに再開したのに会った瞬間何も言わずにセッションするのがいい
  • These are the best kinds of friendships, the ones that, in spite of being separated for years at a time, can be picked right back up as if no time at all has passed.

    もう11年も経ったのかと感慨に耽ってしまいました。 良い作品は長く愛されますね。

Every time I go back and watch a music scene from this, I'm reminded how beautifully animated it is and how much care was put into the accuracy of the playing. Like, the little shifts in the hit hat when he hits it and moves to a snare hit, the Hammond organ having the drawbars at different levels and the preset keys in the opposite colors of the rest of the manuals, the black markings on the snare and toms from the repeated hitting on the heads for so long -- and that's not even including the accuracy of the sounds and pitches when they're playing. There's just so much love put into this anime for the music and presentation and a very limited number of anime have reached that level of attention to detail for musicians.

This scene actually made me tear up, if you watched the show, it shows that jazz is way of communicating how you honestly feel, and hearing their "conversation" through music is just beyond words just like jazz is.

This is my favorite scene of the anime, Kaoru and Sentaro: best friendship ever!

Not gonna lie. I hadn't see any animes since 2009 until I watched this one. And that final litteraly made me shed some tears of joy and smiling like an idiot. Shinichiro Watanabe really is one of the best anime director of those last years. And combined with the great and amazing Yoko Kanno this is always a good pairing. <3
